It can be easy, too!
Everybody has dealt with customer service representatives at one point or another. Whether it is in person or over the telephone, customer service is there to help you. No matter what you do, there sole job is to make you happy on some level. This does not mean you always get what you want, but they will try to work with you if you work with them.
The first thing to do when approaching a customer service representative is to remain calm. Nothing hurts your chances of being helped more than being angry and disgruntled. Things happen in life, and sometimes no matter what you do, you will run into problems. This is not the customer service representative's fault.
Staying calm will help you relate what the problem is, what you would like to happen to resolve it and what is reasonable to resolve it. The calmer you are, the easier it will be for the customer service representative to relate back what they can do to help you and what is within their scopes and bounds. Most customer service representatives are given a strict set of rules and regulations they must follow in certain circumstances. Again, this is not their fault, it is company policy, and keeping that in mind will help you stay cool during any situation.
Customer service representatives are there to help you. Doing your part will make the process as painless as possible. Stay calm, relate what has happened and what you would like to see happen, and listen to the representative as they explain what they can do. These steps will make things easy to talk to any customer service representative.

Good advice. Getting angry does not get you anywhere in a customer service transaction. However, if someone is truly unhelpful or has a bad attitude, it is advisable to call back and get someone else or politely ask for a supervisor.
I want to change the look of my email home page. It was changed for me and I do not like it now. I want to change it back to what it was before. Please tell me how to change it.
Excellent info - thanks!
I invite you to read my Hub on this subject: The decline of good customer service. I think you will find it interesting.
yes i have a comment about how my account was handled and i did not get a good answer to why my account was put on hold just because i paid it off.
great advice! I used to work in customer service (I guess you did too : ) - I tried my best to help everyone as much as possible. I went the extra mile for everyone - apart from - as you said - the people who were incredibly rude or abusive.
Now when I call customer service I know to be friendly, ask them how they are, and crack joke or two : )
Since I started doing that I get much better results (I got sent a free phone once!)
Cheers

I think I'm going to cut up my Big Card. If I should lose it there is apparently no way to cancel the card--no phone number and this site does not apparently offer a way to cancel it.
