59What causes canida?
Canidiasis (candidosis) is caused by the yeast called Candida, more commonly Candida Albicans. There are several factors that help in getting infected with candida. So if you want to know how to treat candidiasis, the first approach is eliminating/avoiding these factors. They include:
- Wearing tight clothes that causes humidity.
- Hormonal disturbances as in pregnancy and steroid therapy.
- Some drugs such as oral contraceptives.
- Waring swimsuits or training suit for long periods of time.
- High glucose levels in uring as in Diabetes.
- Poor hygiene.
- Transmission from the other partner.
- Taking antibiotichs for prolonged periods.
Symptoms of candidiasis
The symptoms include:
- Itching and irritation (the most common)
- Soreness.
- A white curd like discharge, usually offensive.
- Painfull urination in some patients.
On clinical examination it may also reveal congested vulva and exfoliated skin as well as the white discharge. A sample is taken to confirm the diagnosis.
How to cure candida
1-Candidiasis treatment begins with controlling these factors and avoiding them. If you swim or go to the gym don't keep the outfit on you for a long time, take a shwoer after excercise and clean the genitals with plain water.Chemical substances can cause irritation and predispose to yeast infection.
Diabetes control is of value, too. Also, avoid yeast containing foods (some advice).
2-Note that the other partner should be treated too.
3-Antifungal drugs, creams and pessaries are used such as clotrimazole, nystatin, amphotricin and miconazole, your doctor will tell how to use it and for how long.
