Are you serious? Ganon was the first I got. I have been getting frustrated getting toon link... I am getting all the apparent "hard ones" first ugh. I have obtained Ganon, Capt Falcon, Luigi and Lucario in the process and no Toon Link yet.

To get Capt. Falcon you have to beat it in 12, not 20.
So far I got all of the characters with no trouble, does the difficulty your on when you have an unlocked character fight? I never have noticed since what I mainly play on is Very Hard.

A lot of these are just basically playing up to 450 brawls.
Really, what you can do aside from playing 450 brawls [or 1-stock-suicides], you can have fun playing the Subspace Emissionary. That way, you can unlock a lot of trophies, a couple maps, ALMOST all the characters [aside from a select few, in which the other ones I really don't believe in], and you will get a lot of money on the side.
Plus, after you're done playing the Subspace Emissionary, you unlock a new mode of playing. BOSS FIGHTS =D. [Under stadium].
Basically, playing the Subspace Emissionary, you get a lot more benefits and bonuses from that. Plus, some trophies are only unlockable by that [Solo Mode], Ancient Master for instance.
wow. apparanlty no one know you can get almost all the characters just by playing subspace emissary. captain falcan, falco, gannon, r.o.b., snake, game & watch and others. im only 60% through.

to get toon link you have to beeat classic mode on any difficulty with link... you have to beat classic on hard w/ zelda or link to get gannondorf

to get sonic beat subspace emmisary, as soon as he (sonic) joins ur team u have him. once u save and quit out, after beating the subspace emmisary, u also get game and watch and gandorf and falco, lucario all by just beating subspace emmisary, sonic doesnt join ur team till the very end before the final battle, oh and hint for the final battle, to beat the final boss (the guy who teleports) he has a bunch of apocoliypic moves. there is one where he releases waves of energy (u have to dodge these waves, there is no shielding from them) if u dont dodge, u will get killed after like 2 hits (unless u just spawned), u might be able to survive 3 hits if u just spawned. the next attack that he does u will see him release som sort of creature with an open mouth (no its not the one that looks like a fish) u need to get into the air asap cus he shoot a huge 1 hit ko beam, u also need to watch out not to be near him when he teleports cus thats also one hit KO, hopes this helps u guys a bit
oh and btw u cant get toon link till after u beat subspace emmisary, but once u do 5 lives normal with link should be fine, or any difficulty, u also cant get jigglypuff till u beat subspace.

just do the sudspace emmasarry u get them all, after u beat it, go to the secret places in the swamp for Jpuff, about half way though the level and then go to the Ruins with fox and after the big drop with the crystals comming out of the wall dont take the first door u see ignore it the second one will bring u to Wolf, kill them both(wolfs hard on any difficulty even easy) toon link: beaty classic with link=easy

Wondering how to get Toon Link (since nobody really seemed to know how), I thought back to Melee...
Young Link could be unlocked by finishing classic with Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf (I think). So I tried that... Worked just fine. Anyone who hasn't gotten Toon Link yet, try beating it with all three of them.
another way to unlock everyone apart from Jiggles, Wolf, and Toon Link is just to beat subspace emmisary, that's what I did... in my opinion it's easier...

OKAY VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:you can get every single character except for toon link and jiggly puff by completing the SSE on hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To unlock toon link, do classic mode. To unlock jiggly puff, complete event mode #20. However, you may still be missing Wolf. To get wolf, go to iseki in the SSE and skip the first door and enter the door at the bottom OR you can finish boss battle in stadium (only available when you finish the SSE).

That helps a bunch, I never would have thought that that was how you unlocked certain charaters. It's so different from Melee, where each character had one specific way of being unlocked. It makes it a lot easier knowing that a character will appear after so many brawls. Anyway, good job. Thanks!
Thanks for the comments. I think that the suicideing on 1 life brawls is probably the best way to unlock characters (especially since the computer owns me on any mode above normal hardness mode for classic fights). Although I'm half way through adventure mode (Subspace Emisary) in normal hardness mode, and I think if I beat SSE I will unlock lots of stuff (maybe even a character or two).

Okay. For anyone questioning on how to unlock characters (and that is what this fourm is about, not talking to misc. people) is to beat SSE. If you don't feal like it, you can unlock most of the characters by what ever means possable that you wish to try, I don't care. As posted above by me and multiple people, beating SSE and doing Classic or Brawl is the easiest way possable. Just please read the forum and quit asking the same question (its happened multiple times, I know, I just read the entire forum). It will stop wasteing everyones time.

The easiest way to unlock everyone is to do the Subspace Emmisary and then try to do the others which are Wolf who is in the Ruins, Toon Link play Classic mode whith anyone and Jigglypuff who is in the Swamp!!
Yea, there is a much simpler way to unlock most of the characters... just play through SSE! you unlock most of them on the way.
to get toon link all you have to do is beat sse mode then you pick link zelda and gannon on your team you go to the forest you go into the first door you see and toon link will challenge you

Im just doing what other ppl said like beating SSE but for me it is hard.... im only at 31% and im bored of it
if ur gunna get chars by doing lots of brawls heres what i do. 1 stock match handicaps 300 for the enemy. simple. also just be ike and use ur side+b attack (u can charge it up to go farther) and ul KO the cpu right away. u can use this to complete challenges also (like for songs). i only need wolf and jiggly right now. i know how to battle them but they always get a final smash.
Ok, i've played over 400 vs. matches beat all 1-20 events on hard. and beat classic mode with everyone. but i don't want to play this goddamn subspace emissary. i've played for 4 hours on easy and i'm only 38% done. You can also get every character by playing through SSE except Wolf and Toon Link to get them you have to do something special in SSE.

As far as I know almost all the text ones are right, but that vid has a few that aren't completely correct.
To get ToonLink you only need to complete classic with one character, possibly no continues, possibly also having beat SSE.
For Jiggylpuff all you have to do is beat the pokemon event (I think its number 27, could be wrong)
For wolf, you have to have already beaten the whole SSE, then go back to the place in ruins you mentionned.
You also missed one or two characters, but I'm trying to remember who.

ok heres the deal the best way in my opinion to unlock all the characters is to beat sse. everyone is whining about how it takes long but isnt doing sse one of the main parts of the game, and supposed to be fun? ok so anyway u unlock ALL of the characters in sse excpet for 3 of them. so dont going moaning about how u cant unlock R.O.B., that means u tyler lol jk. so just go through sse then to unlock the other three u have to do more specific things. for wolf u go back to the "ruins" level in sse ( the second part of the level just in case u freaked out when u couldnt find it at first like me) then when ur about to finish the level and ur heading down the shaft thing on the descending floor thing u just pass up the door and go all the way to the bottom. there will be a new door there. go in and defeat wolf there and u got him! the second character is jigglypuff. to unlock him (or her im not sure which lol) u go back to the "swamp" level in sse and just like wolf the new door is in the second part of the level. it is right in the middle of the sequence of the barrels that have the arrows on then that u launch yourself out of. just go in the door and beat jigglypuff then u got him/her! yay ok last one. toon link, hes slightly harder especially 4 me cause i hate playing as link but dont let that get u down he was still pretty easy to get. ok anyway to unlock him (not in sse this time) you go from the main menu to "solo" then to "classic" choose link as your character and start doing the levels. after level 11 or however many there are you will have all that congratulations stuff and get ur trophies if u got any so dont get discouraged and think that it didnt work. after all that stuff it will say "a new challenger approaches" then u will get to fight toon link who from my experience was a fair amount better than me. i had to beat classic several times to finally beat toon link cause i kept loosing. but finally i got lucky and killed him. oh ya last thing dont listen to anyone about the level u can do classic on any level as long as it is with link. i did it on easy personally lol

If you want to unlock jigglypuff, wolf, or toon link, first you need to beat sse. After that you do what it says up top. What i did though was for toon link, went to the forest and as soon a you get there, you walk a little and there is a hovering door, enter there and you will fight him. And for jigglypuff, go to the swamp and after a few doors, you find yourself by some water being shot by cannons and these gliders. You will be shot right over a door. Go(swim) back and enter that door. You will fight her there.

Beat sse and then beat classic on any mode with link for toon link. You can get everyone else by doing sse. For Wolf go to the ruins and hit the bottom right switch after beating sse. For Jigglypuff my brother did the first twenty events. Or, you could just do a hell of a lot of brawls.

Just finish the SubSpace Emissary and then go to Ruins in the same SubSpace Emissary and in the second room when you are falling and there is a door ignore it and when you find a second door enter, you will get a "video" of how does wolf appears then he will challenge you... win the battle and then it will be a playable character... I hope I helped in something...

I've beaten the whole game you can easilly get almost every character in the sub space embassary except for toon link which you have to beat the sub space embassary and then beat classic as link!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=) =) =)

Im 99.9999999999etc.% sure you cant unlock master hand unless you have an action replay. But if you dont have an action replay, I would love to know how to get him. Now try to get Crazy hand without a replay, then I will "bow down to your greatness"
King Dedede would be great if he wasnt so slow. I like his final smash of bringing in allies, but Pit does almost the exact same thing, which is why he was on my top five list. As for the regular Link,you're right,he is a noob char. and probably the best noob char.

OK Michelle most char. can be unlocked by playing through SSE (Subspace Emmisary if ur a noob) toon link can be unlocked by playing classic a couple times (im not positive if u have to use Zelda char. cuz i dont think i did) as for the "Jiggster" i unlocked her by classic as well, but u can also keep playing brawls
I think for Falco its 50 vs. matches, not 70.
To do it really fast, do "special brawl", Stamina, for hat select "flower", and do the fast/lightning brawl. Then select your character (set 300 hp for your character), and turn a computer on (set 1 hp for computer), and start the brawl! You dont even have to pay attention to the game to get a lot of matches by pressing start every 5 seconds or so. Since the computer will die half a second into the game due to the flower. If your doing it effectively, you can average about 30 matches every 10 minutes. You'll have all the characters in about 2 hours. Much better than taking 7 hours to beat Subspace emmisary. :D

When you get to the part with the crystals ejecting from the walls, take the ride all of the way down WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE DOOR ON THE LEDGE ON THE WAY DOWN. when you make it all the way down there should be a floating door on the left. Enter it, fight and defeat wolf, and complete the level. save and quit, then a message should appear saying he is availabl for the brawl.

What characters do u all think should have made the final roster? I think master chief should have so there would be a representative from every major console and they would duke it out for the title of "KING OF CONSOLES!" Ganondorf needs an original moveset. Baby Bowser and Black Mage (from Final Fantasy) should have also been put in instead of R.O.B. He's useless!

If u unlock all characters, u not only unlock events 29-40, but u also unlock All-Star mode,which is just like Boss Battles mode,but if u lose you can continue for the same price as in Classic Mode. When u win,just like in classic,you get a trophy of the char. u used. The catch:you get a trophy of the character's final smash

This is the 100% for sure way to unlock TOON LINK you must beat classic mode without losing any lives and it does not have to be on hard it can be on normal and I used link so others might work if so someone post it. I know this is correct cause i beat classic mode on normal without losing any lives fought and lost to toon link the first time, tried classic mode again lost a life and beat it but no toon link showed up, tried classic mode again didnt lose a life and toon link appeared.

i saw a few comments about zero suit samus (called zamus from here on). you can't actually unlock her as a character, but you can use her even without smash balls. the easiest way is to hold L or R at the character selection screen and keep holding until the match starts. you can immediately pick up the pieces of her armor and throw them. they have huge knockback power, and i have pissed off many people by giving them over 50% damage at the very beginning of the match.to get zamus in-game, rapidly press up-down taunt. this works best on a gamecube controller if you put your index finger on the down taunt and your middle finger on the up taunt. basically, you shake your hand back and forth as fast as you can, and you should change to zamus.*note: once you change to zamus, you have no way to change back to samus unless you get a smash ball.

To unlock toon link you beat classic mode after you beat subspace. To unlock Jigglypuff I think you beat 20 events. To unlock wolf you go to subspace and go to the ruins. When you get to the place where you go on a platform and it starts moving down. There will be spikes that you need to dodge. as you go down there will be a door. Do NOT go in that door. eventually the platform will disappear and you will fall to the bottom. Once you reach the floor there will be a second door. go in there and you will face wolf.

This is THE longest blog I have ever read! Thanks for the Wolf unlock ideas(though I still don't have a straight answer)! And BTW you don't need to play as Link in Classic to get Toon Link, I did it as Pikachu (hense the name) on easy mode and got him.
And to "yo mama" Just play Subspace Emmisary and at the end battle with Tabuu you'll unlock him!

i am missing jigglypuff...... iv3e beaten SSE and did classic 5 times with-link,pit,metaknight,sonic, and rob and never got challenged.... i have everyone else though.
to get toon link, beat the SSE THEN beat classic. Toon link is WEAKER than link but is mush faster and jumos higher.
I got every one and i love the new characters. Wolf is a little slower than Fox and Falco, but his attacks are stronger. I persoanlly like Toon Link more than Link becuase he is faster and is able to jump higher. I like Falco better than Wolf. ROB is my best character. An easy way to get all the characters is the go into the Multi-Player mode then hit Special Brawl. Put the 300% damage on then change the rules so that you are on stock with 1 life. Kill the enemy or let him kill you (it doesnt matter) until you have everyone. I got around 100 brawls an hour.

Toon Link- I my opinion, i like him better than Link. He is faster and is good for short and long range attacks. Great for if you need to get the first hit in battles!3. R.O.B- My personal favorite, a great character for short and long range attacks, he is able to hit multipul times and is very powerful. Great to have in the team2. Ike- Slow moving, but very powerful, Ike is one of the best starters i have ever seen. I like his attacks because he can counter one person's attack with his Down and B move and then perform a strong attack to knock someone off the stage1. Meta Knight- Not very good for power, but an amazingly fast attacking character doesnt need that. He builds up damage fast and has a couple smash attacks to knock people down once they havce enough damage. He attacks mulitipul times almost with every attack and is very good to have in your party

You can unlock everyone but Wolf, Sonic, Jigglypuff and Toon Link in SSE. Thats what i did and then i did Special Brawls with 300% damage and killed and level 1 enemy until i had everyone

In a normal brawl, Sonic (unless u aim to go after him the entire time) usually doesnt take much damage fast if he is on level 4 or higher. He is a very good team mate with snake.

i have heard that another way to unlock toon link is by doing the forest level in sse twice. i have done it multiple times with random characters, Princess Zelda and Link...

1 way to get all the characters is by setting 300 damage in special brawl and using ness's B+UP and hitting the other person with it. You can do like atleast 5 brawls a minute. =]

all you have to do is just play and finish Subspace Emissary to get most of the character. I bet Sonics the best character in brawl. in my opinion. and he is used at the last boss battle in SSE
wolf is the best character in brawl sonic is not he stinks. sonic is easy to unlock but wolf is a little harder and more secret.(i dont know why you uknlock jiggily puff the same way you unlock wolf jiggilypuff stinks worse than sonic) i love brawl,its so cool. i made my own stage where no character in the game can get to a part of the stage exept pit its cool.

the easiest and fastest way to unlock all the SSBB characters... >>>>
> Enter SSBB game
> group battle
>special melee
>selcect Stamina mode, put on the flower head, and put speed to fast ( optional )
> pick your character and set the cpu's stamina to 1 , ( i suggest using your best character because you will start fighting foe's to unlock them )
> keep mashing start until you enter battle then as soon as you start the cpu will die, (when the battle starts stop pressing start otherwise you will pause the battle) when you go to the winning menu start mashing start again
> do this repatably and eventualy you'll have all the SSBB characters, some people can do this is two hours, it took me aout three and a half, i suggest bringing a book or something whilst doing this because i guarentee you that you'll get bored.. thanks fro reading.

subspace emissary is like a solo mission type thing where you go around killing things. Then you see cutscenes and do another level. When you play as new characters, if you finish the level with them then you get them to play with in normal brawl match.

How to get Toon Link: First go to the Supspace emmisry then go to the level with link and yoshi.Then go forward,fight the monsters then go ahead til you see a platform.jump on it there should be a door over it. jump on the door go though it then there should be toon link riding the piret ship.Fight him There you got toon link

This is How to get all characters quickly, I found it somewhere.
Hint: Unlock All Characters in 60 Minutes
If you're in a hurry to just get all the characters out and about, use this method:
1. Special Brawl
2. Stamina to lowest percentage
3. Flower on head
4. Keep pressing start whilst sitting at computer.
You'll have 500 matches in no time and should unlock everyone on the character roster. As a rough indication on how long it takes, I got everyone in less than hour using this method. So for anybody with an hour to spare, this is a great way to do it.

toon link is unlocked after you complete sse on normal and after that got to the forest level i used no one in particular but after you select the forrest walk till you see a floating door enter it and fight toon link
You can get every single character in brawl by playing subspace, after you battle them or play as them you automatically have them, as for toon link, jigglypuff, and wolf you need to find their secret doors in the subspace, Toon Link = 1st door in forest level (any character), Jigglypuff = Swamp (any character) Wolf = I'm not sure but you can also get him when beating boss battles with falco or fox Hope this helps
I am not sure about the wii remote(probably Z) but on gamecube contoller hold down R while selcting Samus and hold it until the match starts and the armour will automatically fall off and best of all you can throw it at ppl! So i think for a wiimote hold Z and do the same thing

The fastest way to complete brawls is to go to special brawl, set it to stamina, and turn flowers on. Then when you get to the charachter selection menu, make ur opponent's stamina/hp 1. then brawl! It takes about 2 seconds per match, and u dont even have to touch ur opponent! Its the fastest way to go throguh 450 brawls.

ryan don't worry about doing classic mode just do 450 brawls using these modes: 1st set flower and stamminer modes on, next you have to challenge the cpu in a brawl, set the cpu's stamminer to 1 hp and urs anywhere above 1hp cuz ull both die if u have 1hp. keep doing this and u should unlock every1 with in 2 - 2 and a half hrs

you get toon link by beating the sub-space emissary (not all the way just get to where you beat tabuu) then beat classic without having to "continue" on normal or a harder difficulty, and once you get past the target shooting thing, you will see a challenger approaching sign, it will be toon link

Remember that special brawls do NOT count towards vs. matches (i think), vs. matches only count in "Brawl" mode

you could just go to special brawl and set it to stamina and flower.

Most of the character can be unlocked through the story mode. And toon link was easy to get. All I had to do was beat Classic Mode as Link on Normal, directly afterwards I fought Toon Link. I lost the first try, but then beat Classic Mode as Link again and got challanged again. I won the second time and got Toon Link!
i got every charector
i had every charicter since last year and i love brawl,but one time i was going to play brawl and i put the game in,turned it on and the picture in the top left corner was blank and it had a blank disc in the middle of it so i clicked on it (with my wiimote) and it said thit the disc is not working,i turned the power off,took the disc out and it looked clean and had no sratches so i cleaned it off but it didn't work still and i cleaned it and put it in several times and it still didn't work and it wouldn't work for so long. i think it will work now but my parents are asleep and i dont want to wake them up btw, im playing my ds right now, so i wont bother even trying to see if it will work now.im just gonna play my ds till i go to bed, so i wont submit a comment untill tomorrow, goodnight!
the "real" way to unlock toon link is to complete SSE and finish classic ( on any difficulty) with link, another way is to complete SSE and do the forest level he should be behind the first door.

The only ones I had trouble with were Wolf and Jiggilypuff(sp?). It was annoying how you had to get to the middle of the stage for a chance at beating them.
To unlock young link, you don't need to finish SSE, just do 450 brawls, and enjoy the battle, then one day, you will get him, I unlocked all charcters!!

the way to unlock bowser jr. is to complete classic mode with bowser 1000 times im just saying if you could i do wish you could play as him sometimes not to get ya hopes up but you might can unlock mewtwo by completing classic mode with lucario i have no idea why im thinking you could unlock bowser jr. and mewtwo i mean you can get there trophys why cant you unlock them
most people seem difficultied about toon link i got him from doing alot of battles im having trouble with wolf i just unlocked toon link and am going to unlock wolf with battles
to unlock wolf its pretty simple...first..beat SSE/Adventure mode..then go to the "Ruins" level..play it with fox, then, play through the level until u get to the part where u r on a platform that is going down and there are purple spikes comeing out of the wall...whil ur going dow u will pass a door..do not enter..i repeat DO NOT ENTER....keep going down..the platform will dissappear, vut dnt worry about it..jst keep falling down..then u will get to a second door..enter that one and u will fight wolf..p.s, the second door will only be there if u are playing as wolf..hope this helped...u can always jst do 450 brawls..but i think SSE/Adventure mode is better

like emil said just put 1 stock and suicide but u can make a custom stage with four of the floors that fall when ur on it and set the pause off on rules then brawl and just keep on pressing +
btw i would recommend doing brawls instead of the sse cause when i first got brawl i finished it in 2 days
