This is 20th century man....... The eating habits of the modern lifestyle, the mall culture, and the numerous food chains at the corner of every street-all these factors have contributed metropolis. The market is flooded with machines, medicines, books, therapies and various other tactics to deal with the problem of obesity.
But in this crowd of fatty chunks, the skinny ones are quite forgotten. No one pays a heed to those thin, skinny men trying hard to develop a muscular body so that they can just add a little more bulk to their unattractive physique. Their problem is not considered as serious in the mainstream of the society where people are obsessed and engrossed in dealing with the problem of fat reduction. These marginalised underweights keep on looking for methods to increase their body mass and many a times switch to a wrong alternative in an effort to do so. The reason is lack of guidance and unavailability of material and knowledge.
Natural Methods to Gain Weight:
Although there are a number of methods to gain weight, including artificial and the scientific ones, it is best to gain weight through natural methods.
- Calorie Intake
The first and most obvious thing to be taken into consideration while one is on the track to gain weight is to increase the calorie intake. And this can only be done by eating more food. It is not too difficult. What all one has to do is, instead of taking three wholesome meals per day, one should start taking 5-6 smaller meals.
- Wholesome Food
It largely helps in increasing the calorie intake. Increasing calorie intake doesn't means that one should start eating those food items that contribute to the lumps of flesh around the belly and other regions of body. One should eat wholesome food strictly avoiding junk and unhealthy food.
- Workout
The next crucial thing for weight gain is workout. Workout is not only necessary for weight loss but for weight gain as well. For gaining mass, one needs to do 'weights'.
- Weight Lifting
In fact, weight training is an excellent way to boost the muscle growth and as muscle is denser, it weighs more than fat. During weight lifting, the focus should be on the use of multiple group of muscles such as squat, bench press, lunge, pilates etc. Increase in the muscular pounds is much attractive than fat pounds.
- Other Supplements
Simultaneously, one should not just stick to the natural food that we eat everyday at home. If the intake of the natural food of a person is not sufficient, he\she can switch to supplements like Creatine Monohydrate (Protein supplement) and L. Glutamine (in moderate amount) for the building up of muscles at a faster rate.
- Relax the Body
After such a heavy workout, the body is in a chaotic state and it needs proper rest. Then only the efforts of the workout can settle in the body and bring out positive results. Thus after every weight session, one must relax the body to the maximum to allow them to work effectively upon the body.
- Balanced Diet
Along with all this, one should keep under check the quality of the food he is eating by counting the calories. In other words, one should keep into consideration that he\she doesn't eat the food with 'empty' calories such as chips, pretzels etc. One should opt for a balanced, nutrient-rich diet comprising of food items like fruits and vegetables, wholemeal bread\pasta, lean meat, nuts and beans. Water should also be taken in large quantity.
