Yugioh is a collectible trading card game that's been popular for years. The game started in Japan, but it is now available internationally and not only is there a card game, but there is anime and videos and collectible figures that you can buy as well.

If you're looking for some instructions on how to play yugioh, let me present you with some of the basics.

The first thing you need to do is get yourself a starter deck of Yugioh cards. To play the game, you need a main deck with at least 40 cards and a side deck with no more than 15 cards. And while the rules call for at least 40 cards in order to play, you don't want to have many more than that because it the more cards in the deck the harder it is to win. You will have less chance of drawing the right Yu-gi-oh cards that you need.

Rules for Playing Yu-Gi-Oh

Limiting the cards to 40 to 45 is then best. It is important to note as well that while having that standard 40-card deck, a player can have three duplicates of a particular character in a single deck. The cards placed on the Side deck are made to count through the three duplicates, but limited or restricted cards are present, as well.

To make a good start, always keep the Monster card to the Magic Card, which is marked with a ratio of 1:1. These cards are worth keeping as they hold the foundation of your decks. They are ones that work to defend your Life Points. So to stay safe, make sure that half of your deck is composed of monster cards.

From there, get your High Level Monsters down to its minimum number. Monsters are offered during the game to initiate a Tribute Summon, and keeping your deck with many High Level Monsters will make your summon more costly. Also, use the Effect Monsters in the best way possible. The ones that boast a trap or magic are more valuable as you can build your decks if these effects are used correctly.

Also include cards that have abilities to increase your chance of making draws. In a duel, it is typical for a player to draw only a single card every draw phase. To win the game, make draws more frequently than your opponents can make them.

Side decks must also be built when playing the game. The Side decks are composed of 15 cards, and all work to adjust the number of cards that your deck contains. The key here is to prepare and use the side decks to neutralize certain cards or put the cards that your opponents throw into rejection. The most powerful cards that a player may take include Raigeki, Monster Reborn, Pot of Greed, Dark Hole, and Change of Heart.

So how to play Yu-gi-oh involves the task of maintaining a deck of 40 cards, a side deck of 15 cards to increase the deck power, and to replace a card that your main deck contains with a card from the side deck. Playing a duel without the side deck is possible, however.

Now that you are ready to play, you should get yourself some Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards. Get a starter deck to begin.
