Different Kinds Of Cover Letters
The two most important kinds of cover letters are the letter of application and the letter of inquiry.

A letter of inquiry is sent with your resume when you are applying for a job that has not been advertised.
Two less common cover letters are the listed skills cover letter (which simply lists skills that relate to a position or field) and a coversational cover letter (a more personal, and less structured letter).
Though there are many ways how to write a cover letter, the first two are the most important and common.
Outline For A Letter Of Application
Paragraph One
Should be two or three sentences long. Grab your employer's attention and emphasize their needs and how you can meet them.
Paragraph Two
The second paragraph should be longer than the first (between three and five sentences), and is about how you are the right person for the job. Write about your skills and how they apply. Be sure to include response to everything that the employer put in the advertisement.
Paragraph Three
In this third and last paragraph, let the employer know how to contact you. Remember to include your phone number and email address as well as the best hours to call. Thank your prospective employer for reading and considering you for the job.
