Generate more HubPages traffic

HubPages is a new and exciting way of communicating your writings with other bloggers. Blogging alone is rewarding but does not provide an instant audience in the same manner that HubPages can, regardless, there are some promotion techniques that work on both HubPages and Blogs, I'd like to share one such traffic generating FREE advertising method with you.

Maximize the power of your RSS feed

Hubpages, much like blogs everywhere, provides an RSS feed (really simple syndication) to all of your hubs. This article will describe one method in which you can put that feed to work for you immediately without costing a dime. Free advertising and more traffic isn't always difficult to achieve, if you know how to go about generating it.

Step #1 - Open a feedburner account and claim your feed

Feedburner.com provides a free publicity service that not many people take advantage of or even know about, heres how you can put it to work for your HubPages. Go to your HubPages profile, click on "subscribe to this feed" and then copy and paste the feed address into your feedburner account and "burn it".

Step #2 - Create your free publicity 468x60 ad box

While in your control panel at Feedburner click on "publicize" and then on "headline animator" and you will find a design page that lets you create your 468x60 banner. Change the colors until you are happy and press "Activate".

Step #3 - Promote your HubPages ad box for free

Once your RSS headline animation is active you will see a 468x60 preview image with rotating links to your latest HubPages embeded inside it. Right click over that image and copy its url. Next head over to one or all of the free blog top lists (ie: blogtopsites.com, topofblogs.com etc) and create free accounts there as well. You will get the option of using a 468x60 image to promote your blog, use the feedburner headline animator you just created and voila. Thats all there is to it.

You will now have an animated 468x60 banner showing off links to your latest HubPages, updated automaticaly, showing up in fairly well trafficked places. Make sure you link it to your profile or best HubPage to make a good impression!

If you've done everything correctly you'll see the following...

Sample screenshot : I created this using my HubPages RSS feed and feedburner. It will rotate my latest hubs in headlines when its placed on other sites.

Good hub - promoting rss feeds is often not done cause people don't understand it. You don't need to understand and use rss yourself to ping your hubs. Great tip.

I understand RSS Feeds . . . sorta . . . kinda . . . and I also understand women to the same extent . . . at least I was able to put them on 2 of my blogs -- the RSS feeds that is . . . I can't say they've increased my traffic, though.

they will keep your page fresh with "new" content Don that is one of the benefits which makes google think your page is always up to date (good for rankings) and traffic never comes instantly either, patience....
