Are you a fan of Hulu? Have you ever wondered if it is possible to watch Hulu on PlayStation 3? Well, I am going to share with you that it is, and below I will provide you with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to do so.

Before we get into specifics though, please be aware that your PlayStation 3 console must be connected to your home computer network in order for this method to work.

There are two ways to connect your PS3 console to your home network. You can either connect via a wireless connection, or via a CAT5 Ethernet connection. My suggestion is to network your PS3 console using the CAT5 Ethernet connection, as this will generally provide you with a very stable and high speed connection to your network, which is essential for watching streaming video content, such as that provided by Hulu.

If you are unsure of how to properly configure the networking features of your PlayStation 3 gaming system, please consult your console owner's manual, or visit the PlayStation Knowledge Center for more details.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Watch Hulu on PlayStation 3

Now that you have your PlayStation 3 system properly configured to your home network, you are ready to take the necessary steps that will allow you to watch Hulu content through your PS3.

Step 1: Download MediaMall PlayOn Server Software

Click here to download MediaMall PlayOn Media Server to the computer that you plan to use for sending your Hulu content to your PS3 console.

Please note: The PlayOn software is available as a fully functional 14 day free trial, but you must purchase a license if you wish to use it beyond 14 days. Licenses currently cost $39.99, but this is only a one time charge, and you will receive free lifetime software updates.

Step 2: Install PlayOn Software on Your Computer

This step is pretty self explanatory. All you have to do is click on the PlayOn executable file that you just downloaded, follow the on screen prompts, and the rest will take care of itself.

Step 3: Enter Your Hulu Account Settings into PlayOn Software

Open the PlayOn media server interface by clicking the newly installed shortcut on your computer desktop. Once the interface is open, you will see a tab for "user accounts". You will want to click on this tab, and then you will see and area where you can enter you Hulu account information.

Simply enter your Hulu username and password in this section, and the click the test button to make sure that the PlayOn software can connect to your Hulu account. If all is working properly, a message will pop up, telling you that your Hulu username and password are correct.

You will also notice that user accounts section allows you to type in account information for Netflix, Amazon video on demand, and YouTube accounts, which can also be viewed through your PS3 using the PlayOn media server.

Step 4: Make Sure that PlayOn Media Server is Running

Under the "general settings" tab of the PlayOn interface, make sure that the PlayOn media server is running. If it is not, click the "start" button to make it active.

Step 5: Turn on Your PS3 and Search for the PlayOn Server

Turn on your PlayStation 3 console, and go to the video section of the PS3 menu interface. Your PS3 should automatically recognize the PlayOn media server. If so, you will see the PlayOn logo appear in the PS3 menu.

If you do not see the PlayOn logo, you can request that your PS3 search for new media servers, by scrolling to the top of the video menu and selecting "Search for Media Servers". And now the final step you've been waiting for.....

Step 6: Watch Hulu on PlayStation 3 and Enjoy!!!!

That's right! It's time to pop some popcorn, sit back, relax and watch some Hulu content on your PS3. Just click the PlayOn logo under the video menu of your PS3. Search for Hulu. Select some content. Sit back, relax and enjoy!!!!

After this is done, do you need to always have the computer that you installed play-on on turned on?
