Do you want to know how to grow a plant using hydroponics?
Hydroponics is growing in popularity, and why shouldn't it?
Hydroponics allows you to grow plants anywhere you want, indoors or outdoors, even with limited space, and all without soil.
Your garden tends to yield larger fruit, veg or herbs when you grow with hydroponics.
If you're interested in getting started with hydroponics, or even already have, heres some of the basics you need to know to successfully grow plants.
Soil is not the medium, and never should be.
Soil is full of natural microbes that could contaminate and damage your hydro system.
Never use soil as a medium for a hydro system, if you ever decide to move a plant from soil to hydroponics, make sure to thoroughly clean all the soil from the plant first.
Nutrients are important; make sure you're delivering the correct ones to your plants.
Plants need nutrients, and they usually get them from the soil.
Since hydroponic systems don't use soil, those nutrients need to be delivered through another method.
This is done by using nutrient solutions, that is distilled water mixed with fertilizer, the nutrients that the plants need.
The three most important nutrients are potassium, phosphorous and nitrogen, make sure your solution is rich in these three.
3) Hydro plants need light just like all plants, if the sun can't provide enough light, try to supplement this with artificial.
One of the main advantages of hydroponics is that plants can be successfully grown indoors; anywhere you have space to do so.
This can also means that plants may not be exposed to direct sunlight for very long, or at all. If this is the case, your plants will never grow properly unless you provide them with the light they need yourself.
Indoor grow lights allow you to flood your plants with the light they need, try using led, floros or hid light
These three basic tips will go along way if you always remember them when doing your hydroponic growing. For the absolute best results though, there is a lot more to know about hydroponic growing techniques.
