Listening to your favorite music while riding your bicycle it is one of those things people love to do. Of course riding on public roads hearing music with headphones on can be very dangerous and one must be responsible and never use this kind of equipment so loud that makes it impossible to hear what is happening around.

The fact that iBikeConsole has this wireless controls which are easy mounted on the handlebars make it very easy and safe to use even when you have your gloves on. It also has this strong weather-proof housing for the iPod Nano which can be attached to the handlebar with an universal tool-free mounting support and beside being weather-proof it is also shock-proof due to its` shock-absorbent liner.

What is an iPod Nano?

The iPod Nano is a portable media player designed and commercialized by Apple. It is the midrange model in Apple's iPod family. The first generation was introduced in 2005.

It uses a flash memory, like the iPod Shuffle, this means there are no moving parts, making the iPod Nano immune to skipping due to sudden movement. With a small widescreen display screen and the "click wheel" this model has been updated three times since its introduction.

Shortly after release, the iPod Nano became the highest-selling MP3 player in history, besting its sibling, the iPod Mini.

The fourth generation iPod Nano (4G) was officially announced at the Apple Let's Rock Event on September 9, 2008. It returns to the narrow form factor of the 2G model, while keeping and rotating the screen from the 3G model. It has a curved aluminum shell and glass screen. It is also thinner than both the 2G and 3G, measuring 90.7 mm (3.6 inches) tall by 38.7 mm (1.5 inches) wide by 6.2 mm (0.24 inch) thick, and weighing 36.8 grams (1.3 ounces).

iBikeConsole | More than a iPod bike mount

If you think holding your iPod Nano safely and allow you to choose from your music play list without taking your hands from the grips it is all that iBikeConsole can offer you, you are wrong!

The iBikeConsole also converts your iPod Nano screen into a cycle computer display where you can check the speed, trip distance, and even more as long as your iPod Nano microcode allows the display of such information on iPod screen.

And after your rides all the information will be stored in the memory stick after removing your Ipod from the iBikeConsole. This way you will never need anyother cyclocomputer again.

Try it! Play it! Listen it!

Apple 2009

Even though iBikeConsole it is not an Apple invention this does not mean they are not working to bring new products to the market. Who knows maybe they will launch some kind of little speakers to adapt on your bike to make your rides safer.

In the meantime there is these rumor that Apple will launch the brand new iPhone Nano still during this year and probably even before Christmas.

That's pretty ingenious with the grip-mounted controls! I wouldn't listen to music while riding, but I have to give them credit for the design and implementation of the product.

You´re right Levi, thanks for commenting. I only listen to music while riding if it´s on a static bike. On the roads I find it dangerous and on the trails I miss the nature´s noises ;-)

ps- Congratulations on your great site.

Hi sweetie...I have an iPod Nano and am still figuring it out, you know us old ladies LOL...but a story I wanted to tell you: I totally agree it is and can be very dangerous.....Long ago now I was wearing earphones and had a tape playing whilst I was mowing the back lawn with a gas mower...so I had it blasting...really into my music...having such a wonderful mow....until I got off balance and fell right into my huge bed of roses...lawn mower screaming, me screaming but no one too hear me......Somehow I managed to get up..accompanied with these huge deep rose thorne scratches on my shoulders and arms.

Did I mention I was in a strapless summer dress?  Ouch. ouch and ouch again... No scars were left except to my pride....so is not a good idea to play your music too loud so you can't hear what is going on...just think what could happen on a bike???yikes....Thanks for a great hub...as always...and are you doing well my dear Man???  I pray so...G-Ma :o) hugs

Sorry to disagree with you my darling but you are not an old lady. Old ladies don´t have iPod nano :p LOL. I´m thinking if the cause of your mowing accident wasn´t the fact that you were dancing like crazy at the same time you were "driving" the gas mower!? lol That´s dangerous and you should know it :D

Now seriously, I am glad to know that it didn´t left scars on you and also want to thank you for taking the time to tell us this story remembering everybody that doing things without being observant on what we are doing can be very dangerous.

I´m doing fine, thanks. Did I ever tell you that I love when you show up at my hubs ;-) Big KISS :-»

Funride,

It is amazing how versatile the iPod nano's are. There are several attachments that are available to make them useful in a lot of places. This iBike Console is awesome! My brother is a avid biker, this will be a great Christmas suggestion! Thanks.
