iContent Robot is no more.

Automated solutions are becoming very big this year nonetheless. Scour the net and you'll find plenty, from housecleaning and yard robots (see my other hubs) to promising new no-work traffic methods.

My experience has taught me that article marketing requires a fair bit of time. I'm all for hands-off, automated solutions.

I've decided to leave my earlier article (below) up for posterity. The bot had a great name and did its job well as long as it was able. May iContent Robot rest in peace.

Well, I'm a robot person and I love the idea.So I took the plunge and subscribed. Yes, it's not a one-time purchase, but a monthly subscription.

I decided to do a case study for you, to show you some actual text generated by iContent Robot.

I know a lot of people are skeptical about how well a robot can write, myself included. So I figured it had to be put it to the test.

I must say I like the fact that iContent Robot offers texts not only in English, but also in French, German and Spanish. If it works, that could mean easy access to many new market groups...

Below, you'll see the results of this short case study, and my initial comments. What I did was enter the key words Caribbean island cruise in the Generate Content box. After waiting for about 3 seconds, this is what I got:

I had to re-enter my login data (I'd sent the kids off to school in the meantime), and so had to start this process over again, by re-typing my search terms "Caribbean island cruise" in the query box again. The texts above are readable and relatively grammatically correct. The iContent Robot does not generate nonsense files.

However, there does appear to be some overlap. The iContent Robot software seems to take one text and re-arrange its segments and use synonyms to present much the same message. It's like GoogleSnatch, but automated.

The content is probably not something you or I would write, and I think the company's suggestion that we'll not have to write copy anymore is a bit of a stretch. Nonetheless, I can see uses for the type of content created by this automatic text generator.

Latif, the creator of iContent Robot, suggests we use the different versions of the text file created as above, to post content to every social marketing web 2.0 site possible, including HubPages, Squidoo, Dog Pile, Digg, Technorati... you name it.

Latif has done so and gets consistently high SEO rankings, which means tons of traffic coming to his sites. Sounds like iContent Robot is worth giving a try?

Certainly I can see some advantages of being able to generate content automatically and, at the click of a button, re-generate the text for use at another site. You can quickly and easily create a web presence at multiple locations on the web, and link them in to your main site. This is how Latif gets good search engine results in very little time and without using costly PPC and other expensive and time-consuming marketing methods.

But there two major "buts."

1. There's a monthly subscription fee. (And BTW, if you join quickly, you still might be able to lock in a position at the lower launch price.) Is it worth your while to pay the price, to be able to generate text at the touch of a button? Probably.
2. You may not be able to generate text on the subject you want! Now this is a Big But! The company says it will send out a monthly list of 50 topics you can automatically generate articles on. Well that severely limits your potential use of the iContent Robot system, doesn't it?

I'm sure iContent Robot is a tool that will be highly useful in particular fields. For instance, it will be used to the max in affiliate marketing. What you'd do is this:

Pick a topic from the monthly topic title list. Find yourself an affiliate program related to the topic. Generate content and add in your affiliate links. Post your articles all over the place. Have yourself found by search engine spiders. Expect high traffic.
