Moms Need Support

Moms are busy bees! Making sure their kids eat right and get plenty of exercise, keeping the house in check, and cooking dinner are just some of the things moms do on a daily basis. Here are some iPhone applications to help the Moms of the world (and dads too)!

ShopALot - Grocery - $1.99

Your grocery list made easier! ShopALot gives you prices and nutritional facts for thousands of grocery store products. No longer will you need to write out your grocery list every week, it'll be saved for edits in your iPhone.  If a product you need is not listed, you can add it along with all of the information you wish to include.

Compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch - Version 1.3 released on April 16, 2009.

Baby Brain - $4.99

My parents would laugh at this application. They always say, "we didn't have these gadgets years ago and look at you, you turned out fine." While they are correct, I turned out fine, parents raised in a technologically driven world think in different ways. Baby Brain is made for the technology loving mommy! With Baby Brain, you can track feedings, count diapers used (and poopies, too!), and manage baby's naps! With Baby Brain, remembering the details of parenting is made very easy. Baby Brain was designed by mothers and delivery nurses to help you, the new mommy!

Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch - requires iPhone 2.2 update - released April 27, 2009

shoppingPal - $0.99

Lady's love to shop, but when you have kids with you, there's no time to take your sweet time. Shopping needs to be efficient because your kids don't want to run back and forth from store to store fifteen times in one day. shoppingPal helps you compare items on your iPhone instead of running back and forth between stores. This application allows you to take pictures of the items in question and type in the details you wish to remember (price, fabric, store the item can be found in). You can even record the location of the store by GPS in case you need to run back for your item the next day.

Compatible with iPhone - requires iPhone 2.2.1 update - released May 5, 2009

Food Substitutes - $2.99

If you don't have the ShopALot application, you might forget a few things at the grocery store. Or maybe you've already started dinner and realize you don't have all of the ingredients that you need. With Food Substitutes, there won't be any last minute trips to the supermarket. Food Substitutes can help you find cooking alternatives in eight (8) categories: baking ingredients, cheese and dairy, eggs, fats, oils and vinegars, herbs, spices and seasonings, fruits and veggies, low fat substitutes, and miscellaneous.

Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch - requires iPhone 2.2 software update - version 1.3.1 released May 13, 2009

Baby Translator - $0.99

Goo-goo-ga-ga, me-ma-poo-poo.  Yea, I don't know what it means either.  Thankfully there's an app for that.  Baby Translator translates baby's language so you can easily communicate with him!  Your iPhone records baby's blurbs, analyzes them, then tells you exactly what he said.

Okay, so maybe this application can't tell you what your baby is saying.  But atleast you can say there's an app for that!  Goo-goo-me-ma-moo?

Compatible with the iPhone - requires iPhone 2.1 software update - version 1.4 released on May 16, 2009

BabyPhone Deluxe (Baby Monitor) - $4.99

Imagine that, a baby monitor application for the iPhone! BabyPhone Deluxe works just like a baby monitor. You switch the application on and place your iPhone near your resting child. When a sound goes above an adjustable level, the configured phone number will be called.

With an additional BabyRecorder, your baby's sounds and ambient noises can be recorded. BabyRecorder will record when sounds exceed an adjustable level so you will know how often your baby coughed at night and what the little one mumbles before you're awake.

Compatible with iPhone and iPhone 3G - requires iPhone 2.1 Software update - version 1.6 released February 24, 2009

BigOven - Free

Moms hear complaints from their families about dinner all of the time.  "We had this last week."  "I don't like this."  "I'm vegetarian now."  It's difficult to find new recipes when the kids need to get to soccer practice.  Thankfully, BigOven has a 160,000+ recipe search where you get free access to cooking archives.  You can even add your own recipes!  Recipes can be found by searching titles, keyword, or lists of ingredients.

Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch - requires iPhone 2.1 software update - version 1.0.1 released on October 28, 2009

Scribble Lite - Free

On a road trip and you forgot the crayons and coloring books?  TRAVESTY!!  Not to worry, the iPhone application Scribble allows your little ones to draw, singer paint, sketch, and doodle in many colors, pens in different sizes.  They can even draw right onto their favorite photograph and then shake to erase.

Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch - requires iPhone 2.0 softwar update - version 1.3.1 release July 7, 2008

Moms don't fret, iPhone apps are here to help you yet!
