Helping Hanna Lose Weight

Hi Hanna.
While I agree with everyone's techniques that will cause you to lose weight, I want to touch on the deeper issues. As one who has constantly struggled with these same issues, I have to share some of the things that I have learned over the years.
1. Enjoy the person you are. You are far more than your weight. While it is an identifier, your weight is not your IDENTITY.
2. Take a moment to reflect on all of your good points and then list your "faults". The faults will be easier to find but you have some really good points. You know why I know that, because everyone does. Ask people you know and listen to your heart. Be fair, but also be kind and gentle to your self.
3. Now that you have done a little inventory of yourself try to find out what the REAL problem is. Being overweight is not the issue, it is the result.
* Are your physically healthy? Is there an underlying health condition you need to resolve?
* Are you emotionally overwhelmed? Frustruation, anger, depression could easily lead to unhealthy habits. Overeating or moping around could be just your way of coping. Start dealing with these problems and the others just might take care of themselves.
* Are you eating the correct foods? Today's diet is leaving us overfed and undernourised. If you cannot pronouce what you are eating it is probably not a good idea to eat it. Stick to foods that have real ingredients. Check your intake of vitamins and minerals. Are you drinking enough water. The body will keep craving more stuff as long as it not recieving what it actually needs.
* Do you have hobbies or practical distractions? Just sitting around can easily lead to running into the kitchen.
* Do you keep company with health, happy and supportive people? Negative energy is contagious. So is positive energy. Choose wisely
* Do you want to lose weight for any reason other than your health or self-esteem? No man, no job, no friends, no anything will give you internal motivation. You must want this for you and your longevity. For you and your spirit. For you and your health. For you and your enjoyment. YOU must be your motivation.
