Professional Car Wax is the Secret Weapon for a Mirror Finish

Professional car wax is the secret ingredient that gives a car a showroom finish. All ages marvel at the mirror finish. Your own car can have that highly polished look too, and without having to pay for expensive car detailing. By using a professional car wax, you can achieve the same effect right at home.

Online research is the most important first step to determine the difference in professional car wax brands. You'll discover that some expensive well known brands really aren't any better than mediocre brands. For superior results, always use nonabrasive waxes.

Professional Car Waxing 101

Then, thoroughly wash your car. Dirt is hard to find on a wet car, so it's a good idea to wash it twice. Allow the car to completely dry before application of the wax. If you can avoid it, try not to wax your car on a day when the weather is hot and sunny. If it is sunny, make sure you park your car in the shade.

Dampen a sponge and squirt a small amount of professional car wax onto it. You should use approximately one tablespoon for each application. On each section of the car, rub the wax in using a circular clockwise motion. After covering the whole car with the professional car wax, go back to the area you first started in.

The professional car wax in the spot where you started will be completely dry now. Cloth diapers make a great choice to remove wax. Terry cloth towels are very effective as well. To buff the wax off your car, rub in small circles in the opposite direction than you used to apply the wax. Use a fairly firm pressure and make sure you buff off all the wax. Make sure you switch cloths or towels every so often, otherwise you'll be putting the professional car wax back onto the car. Streaks in your car's appearance will occur if you skip this step.

The last step is to take another clean towel or cloth and run it over the entire vehicle one last time. This will help eliminate any hidden streaks or wax spots. Doing this is important because the paint on a car can be damaged, even by a professional car wax, if wax is left on the car for over two hours. So you'll need to work quickly to make sure all the wax is removed. Try to be very thorough and meticulous.

Car Wax Touch Ups

A professional car wax will remove many marks or tough stains that washing alone can't handle. Rub on another coat of wax to the spot, and then let it dry. Then buff off the wax, and if you're still not satisfied with the results you can repeat the process. When you're all finished, clean your towels and wash cloths for future waxings. To keep from scratching your car next time next time you use them, use a fabric softener in the wash.

It's Well Worth the Effort

Giving your car a show room shine really isn't rocket science. A little time and effort is all it takes. And when you use the right professional car wax, good results are guaranteed.
