Internet Explorer vs. Firefox

One of the big debates on the Internet boils down to which browser is better: Microsoft's Internet Explorer of Mozilla's Firefox. You will find ardent supporters on both sides. Each ready to defend their browser to the death. Meanwhile, each browser has its pros and cons, and we will take a look at some of those for you to decide which one will work best for your needs.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer was introduced as part of the company's trifecta of operating system, word processing system and Internet browsing experience. Over the years, it has gained a reputation as being memory dependent and a security risk for those using it. However, Microsoft has done everything it can to create patches, fixes and other factors to secure the browser. In recent years, it introduced tabbed browsing and taken cues from Firefox to be a more customizable browser. Security updates are available through Microsoft's update feature. While IE is not as user friendly as Firefox, for those who do not have the time to customize their browser, it is a good alternative.
Mozilla's Firefox began as an open source project centered on the Mozilla Suite. Once Firefox took off and ran by itself, it integrated a streamline browsing experience that takes up minimal memory and allows the user to customize it beyond just options and preferences. You can download add-ons, extensions and new themes for the program to make it do everything from tell you the weather in your local area to creating a FTP connection to your web server. Extensions like Greasemonkey allow a user to go even further and actually change the way web sites interact with the browser. The possibilities with Firefox are almost limitless.
No matter which browser you use, you want to find the one that is going to do the most for you. Each browser can be customized to your advantage. It just takes a little bit of effort to find the settings that will work for you. Take the time to get to know your browser, and no matter which one you choose, you will get the most it has to offer during your browsing sessions.

I agree, I think when it comes down to it, IE is more reliable than Firefox. It does tend to glitch much more, and it also have problems displaying pages whereas IE generally does not. However, I still prefer Firefox based on how customized my version happens to be.
I prefer to use FireFox. It has many add-ons and customization tools which are very good for webmasters. I used IE before, but seems to be IE is not stable enough in protecting Spams as compared to FireFox.

Good hub! In my own experience using both browsers, I have found IE to be more reliable on the whole. While Firefox offers a lot of neat features, it is the performance of IE that has impressed me. I'm not talking about memory and all that, I just mean the pure and simple ability to display a web page correctly. Probably 10 percent of sites that I visit regularly do not display correctly in Firefox; for this reason I prefer to use IE most of the time. To each his own, though.
