Ineffective Article Marketing Can Cost You!

This article is designed simply to provide some tips on how to get the most out of article marketing.

In the last few years it has become a little more difficult to find quality content in article directories that can provide genuine content and offer readers what they want.

Depending on what the author's intentions are, teaser articles can be an ineffective article marketing strategy. Teaser articles simply provide a few paragraphs of information, with the ultimate desire being that the reader clicks on the link at the bottom.

Many authors believe this is an effective approach to article marketing, which it can be if your goal is simply quick traffic. I don’t believe it is a long term solution for several reasons. The main reason is that the website owners who put effort into providing readers what they want, will not place your teaser articles on their websites, therefore you are not getting the back links you need to rank well.

What I believe happens is that at first you will get a bit of traffic because the article directory has a good page rank and you might rank well for a few days or weeks. But if your content is weak it will disappear and you will need to start all over again. This can cost you a lot of time and money.

3 most common mistakes article marketers make

As for the top 3 most common mistakes article marketers make here they are in my opinion:

1. Not Understanding Why We Submit Articles

There are three major benefits to submitting articles. One you can build a presence and a good reputation on the Internet as someone who provides quality content, you can generate leads, and you can promote your site. These are all important in optimizing your campaign. Many people focus on the last one which is promoting your site.

When you write an article you should keep all three in mind. This will produce long term results rather than a short term traffic source. If people are not interested in reading them, website owners will not put them on their sites for content, nor will they link to them.

2. Not Understanding Search Engine Optimization and Free Long Term Site Promotion

Many already know that your articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. Many also know that you can get more traffic to your articles using simple SEO.

Ineffective article marketing involves failing to concentrate on 2 or 3 low competition keyword combinations, and not placing them in strategic places with bold or underline.

3. Writing Teaser Articles That Don’t Offer Quality

In addition to the reason above here are two more main reasons why this is an ineffective article marketing technique in my opinion.

First it can waste a lot of time if they are not approved. It is important to know that not all article directories are accepting just any type of content. In order to save time, it helps to put effort into your articles so we don't have to resubmit them, and wait the few days it takes to get them approved again.

Second it can ruin chances of getting that one website owner with over two hundred thousand readers who could take your article and make you hundreds of leads overnight.

Of course if short term traffic is the goal then teasers can do that. But in the long term if authors provide too many teasers, they will lose all credibility, and potential life long leads or customers.

If You're Not An Expert Where Can You Get Quality Content To Use?

Some authors may know all the ins and outs of marketing and the reasons for it, but cannot write effective articles, or do not want to write, or don't have time. There are several reasons for not writing, or for poor writing.

One way to write more quality articles is to use a service like Monthly Content. This service provides content on several different niches, so whether people are experts or not they can still provide readers with quality content, and don't have to spend hours trying to write it themselves.

There are also several other services online that can help people write more articles. A simple search in Google will yield several different services.

How To Make Money?

In the end, it is all really a matter of choice, either authors want long term exposure, page rank, and credibility by writing more quality content, our they want quick exposure by writing a lot more short articles.

Ranking well in search engines is great for traffic but ultimately how do they get money in their pocket? They need to create a plan as to what they want their visitors to do when they arrive!
