cervical cancer on the mouth of the uterus

Awake before it's too late

What is cervical cancer?
Definition of cervical cancer is that the Cancer that forms in tissues of the cervix (the organ connecting the uterus and vagina). It is usually a slow-growing cancer that may not have symptoms but can be found with regular Pap tests (a procedure in which cells are scraped from the cervix and looked at under a microscope).

Having this kind of cancer is very common in most of the women .Its is a kind of cancer which develop gradually. it is pretty difficult to trace this kind of cancer at an early stage ,But latter on virginal discharge takes place in most women. In some women bleeding is experienced before the onset of the real date of mensuration,or it is seen that the virgin bleeds after having an intercourse. In some cases it is seen the women have already attained their menopause but after some years they start bleeding again.

Human papillomavirus (HPV)is the prime cause of cervical cancer. Women who are sexually very active from a young age and have multiple sexual partners are easy prey to this kind of cancer. The virus is passed on from one person to another through sexual contact.the use of condoms is a safest method to prevent oneself from this threatening disease.

Most of the women have this disease some time or the other during their lifetime.Often the virus causes no harm and goes away without treatment. But sometimes it is fatal.
Cervical cancer claims lives of around 300,000 women worldwide every year. Around a fourth of these patients are from India.A report says.--

IMPORTANT FACTS FOR WOMEN--
Emphasize on regular Pap test so that you can prevent cervical cancer

Basic information for this must be gathered by women by talking to their doctor about Pap testing and mammogram schedules.

A healthy habit for women is to read booklet about the Pap Test in easy language.may be in their( native language)

Government should count it as a prime issue towards welfare of the women's health and take all necessary measures to make people aware of this disease and also provide free camps for the tests and treatment .Some big hospitals ,institutions and organisations should come forward to awake the awareness of this fatal disease and take active part to safeguard the women .

Have you heard about a vaccine to prevent a virus that causes cervical cancer?

The researchers found that Gardasil protected against HPV
In the UK, girls(aged 12 to 13) are offered the HPV vaccine. The vaccine the Government has chosen to use is Cervarix. Girls have three injections over 6 months given by a nurse. A informative letter about the vaccine and a consent form is sent to the parents of the girl before she has the vaccine.A two year 'catch up' programme has also started between 13 and 18 years of age .
It is not yet certain how long the vaccination gives protection to women ,for trials have followed people up for 6 years so we know that it may lasts at least this long.

The side effects are usually mild and include:
Headache
Aching muscles
Redness and soreness around the site of the injection
Fever
Feeling and being sick
Stomach pain
Diarrhoea
Itching, rash
Dizziness

The vaccine doesn't prevent infection with all types of HPV. The research so far, has estimated that the vaccines would not help prevent cervical cancer in women those who are already infected with HPV.So its still very important to have a smear test even if you have taken the course of the vaccine.

In the first stage of cervical cancer the treatment is done by doing a surgery in which the inner part of cervical is operated and removed but the uterus is kept attached .But if the cervical cancer is in advance stage then the uterus is removed after which radiation or chemotherapy is given .

we can prevent ourself from this type of cancer if we follow certain precautionary measures :
Do not indulge yourself in sexual activities when you are young
Have only one sexual partner
Use condoms to protect oneself from HPV
Do not smoke
Do not use contraceptive pills for a longer period
For young girls its adviceable to take the vaccine ,the affect of the vaccine last for six years

It's time to rise and look into one's health do not fear, gather information about cervical cancer. The foremost important thing is, mothers should talk to their daughters about it they should not shy away the talks which are related to sex.Even schools can organise seminars for teenagers.
