Attraction Marketing: Using the Internet to Market Any Business
47Social Networking, Web 2.0 Sites Bring Qualified Leads to You
Attraction marketing is the concept of attracting prospective customers to your business using informative content that the prospect has an interest in. The attraction to your information pre-qualifies your leads and allows you the opportunity to build a relationship with the new prospect. The prospective new client is able to make an informed decision about your product or service and you take on the role of a consultant rather than a salesperson. Since the threat of being "sold" is removed, they are more receptive to your advice and are more likely to do business with you.
There are a lot of social networking sites that you can use to create a web presence. The most important one is a blog and there are a number of blog sites to choose from. It has become the face of many businesses, almost replacing the conventional website. There are sites like facebook and myspace that connect people socially. Digg is a bookmarking site where people share web content they find interesting. Fickr is a photo and video management and sharing site. Twitter is a "microblogging" site where people can make a short statement, like an instant message, which is sent out to their social network. The message could be about what they are doing at the moment or something they just saw that they want to share. YouTube has become a very popular site for posting personal videos. There are many more to choose from and they are very useful search engine optimization tools for getting your message seen on the internet.
The Blog
The primary tool used for displaying the content is a blog. The blog is a simple website where you, as a business builder, will write short and informative entries related to your business. Not only should this content be informative to the reader but it should contain "keywords". Keywords are words that a person would type into a search engine that are related to your business. These keywords help to bring you and the prospect together. People reading the blog can leave comments and possibly their contact information but this isn't necessary for the blog to be effective. The blog should help the prospect trust you to provide a good product or service because they are already receiving something of value in the content.
The blog should contain links within the content that take the reader to other sites relevant to the particular content. These other sites can even be sites which you have created, like at Squidoo or Hub Pages, that offer additional information about your product or service. Linking your blog to other sites helps boost its search engine rankings and bring more traffic to your site(s). These links also add to the reader's benefit by providing more sources of their interest.
Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking sites allow the user to share content they think is interesting with people within their network. Digg and del.icio.us are two very popular social bookmarking sites where you can bookmark videos, blogs, articles and anything else you think is worth sharing.
Bookmarking your own blog, videos and articles is a great way to get other people to see your business content and get higher search engine rankings. Just be careful not to only bookmark your own content. It's a social site, not a business networking site, so be sure to include other content that is of interest to you. If you only bookmark your own sites, the search engines and the other people in the network will see what you are doing which will decrease your search engine rankings and traffic.
Internet Marketing for Your Business
- Internet Marketing for Any Business
It has been predicted that five years from now there will be two types of businesses, either online business or out of business. Which one do you want to be? If you don't have an online presence, no one will be able to find you, or won't need to because they will more easily find someone else on the internet. Learning SEO (search engine optimization) and other internet marketing techniques is a necessity even now, to compete on the internet and reach your target market. While the Renegade Marketing training was primarily created for network marketers, the techniques they teach at Renegade University are applicable to any business. Large corporations have been using the principles of Attraction Marketing in their advertising for decades and now the internet allows the small business owner to do the same. Even if the mere mention of network marketing causes you to run from the room screaming and plugging your ears please do yourself a favor and read The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing. Focus on the comparisons of the advertising of the big corporations and the application of these techniques for small businesses on the internet. Substitute your business in place of "network marketer" and see how you can promote your business with social networking and Web 2.0 social sites. - 15 months ago
- What is Attraction Marketing?
Attraction marketing, or magnetic sponsoring, is the basic strategy of getting potential prospects to come to you instead of you chasing them. This is accomplished by offering something they already want rather than trying to sell them something they don’t. This is basic marketing and all successful advertising is based on this strategy but it would seem that most network marketing companies have missed this. When you see a TV commercial or a magazine ad, isn’t it trying to appeal to some need or desire you already have. Whether it’s for a restaurant, a gym, a new car or the next blockbuster movie, the ad is trying to attract the attention of the people who have a need or desire that the product or service fulfills. The ad brings the potential customers to the product or service provider who are already sold on their need for it. They go to the car lot because they want a new car and to the restaurant because they want to go out to eat. It was the buyer’s decision to go to them. With attraction marketing, the prospects find you. It is the most qualified kind of lead generation. Of course, network marketers don’t use expensive marketing techniques like TV and magazine ads for obvious reasons. But there is a tool used by every company and every person that any network marketer can learn to use to present their opportunity to 1000’s of people. You guessed it- the internet. Anyone with even the smallest budget can post information on the internet to be found by a variety of search engines for the people looking for that information. All you have to do is appeal to the existing needs of your potential prospects and they will be contacting you with an interest in what you have to offer. Do you think it would be much easier to sell your opportunity to someone who is contacting you out of their own personal interest? Well of course you say but, what is their need? Is it that fabulous product or service your upline has told you will sell itself? Probably not. If someone is contacting you about a network marketing opportunity it’s not because they want better skin, nutritional supplements, telephone service or whatever the latest gizmo is. They are looking for a home based business, supplemental income, or replacement income for their existing job. If you can provide this, not just with your opportunity, but with the information and training to make that business truly successful, you have fulfilled their need. This is the basis of the e-book The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg. Ann Sieg is an experienced network marketer who has learned how to use the internet, specifically using social networking and Web 2.0, to generate qualified leads. Those of her prospects who are interested can learn to use the same techniques to build their own businesses. She no longer has to chase down prospects and try to convince them how great her opportunity is. New prospects contact her on a daily basis, like an automated lead generation system, so she can focus on managing her MLM business and helping others develop the same lead generation system which they can use for whichever MLM business they choose. - 16 months ago
- Network Marketing Lies
If you are like most people, you cringe at the sound of the phrase network marketing or multi-level marketing, as you should, especially if you have been involved in it, because the experience for most is one of embarrassment, loss of money, disappointment and general failure. Why would anyone want to be a part of that? For most it is generally a painful experience. Some could foresee the pain and embarrassment when presented with the “opportunity” and just never became involved with it, however many times they had to endure being prospected. These feelings and experiences are primarily the result of trying to build a profitable business with ineffective and outdated marketing techniques which you were told would work. In case you haven’t realized it yet and are still blaming yourself, let me tell you something- THEY LIED. I’m not saying your best friend, your brother-in-law, or Aunt Ruthie knowingly lied to you because they were lied to as well. What I am saying is that the methods you were all taught for marketing your new business to success were doomed for failure and haven’t been effective since the early ‘80’s. Do you remember hearing things like “everyone is a prospect” or “the product sells itself”? How about “anyone can do this business” and “it’s not selling, it’s sharing”? I no longer believe these statements and neither should you. After reading The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing by Ann Sieg, I realized that failure with the techniques I was taught was inevitable for me and about 97% of the people who tried it the same way. I also learned that there is a better way to build a network marketing business that doesn’t involve chasing down friends and family, or anyone for that matter. There is a strategy called attraction marketing that can actually have people, interested and motivated people, coming to me no matter what the product is. What a concept! - 16 months ago
