Internetwork Marketing: The Nuts and Bolts of Network Marketing on the Internet
As you probably already know, InterNetwork Marketing is the not-so-new practice of building your network marketing business on the internet. The term was coined by Ann Seig and Ken Evoy, in reference to a contest they co-sponsored using SiteBuildIt! as the platform for building a successful internet business around any network marketing opportunity.
Later, Ellie Drake and Mike Filsaime teamed up and called it NetWeb Marketing. They then hosted a series of calls to disseminate preliminary information about this new phenomenon which was about to take the network marketing industry by storm.
In the midst of all of this well-placed hype, a few people were quietly doing their homework and learning how to do what it was they were actually talking about. They started to build websites and post blogs. They started using video and finding web 2.0 properties that Google seemed to rank highly on which to post even more content.
Then they learned how to link everything together to increase the ranking of their web pages and get more traffic. They added capture pages and started building huge lists of people hungry for information.
Sometimes these lists were bought and sold as leads. They were most valuable to the people who created them, though, who continued to communicate with them a build a relationship based on trust and value.
That is how InterNetwork Marketing works. It isn't rocket science. You don't have to be overly smart or good looking to do it (but it doesn't hurt!). You just have to know how to set it all up and let it run like clockwork.
