interpreting the upcoming closing square of Saturn-Pluto
63Planet Saturn enters Libra on 29 October and soon afterwards it will form a stessful aspect with Pluto in Capricorn. This is a rare planetary combination, occuring approximately once every 36 to 38 years. This particular contact has a strong effect and long duration (from October 2009 to September 2010), since both planets are slow moving. Combined, Saturn and Pluto symbolize endings, a decaying phase in our lives. On a mundane level they indicate contraction, pessimism and rising debts in world economy. On a more personal level, they are indicative of pressing changes in our lives. Established areas of our lives are about to change. Very often these planets are associated with fateful events. This means that their effect is felt like having little or no personal control over the events that are unfolding.
As everything is part of an evolving process, the changes that are about to take place are affecting areas of our lives that one way or another are outworn. This is the major realization with this planetary aspect. This is the true meaning of the decaying process that the planet of restriction and maturation (Saturn) and the planet of Death and Regeneration (Pluto) symbolize.
While this aspect influences all of us, there are particular birthdates that are more attuned with this upcoming aspect. These birthdates are:
Arians born between 21 and 27 March
Cancers born between 22 and 28 June
Librans born between 23 and 29 September
Capricorns born between 22 and 28 December
While the above birthdates are not the only ones being affected by the upcoming Saturn-Pluto square, these nevertheless can be regarded as the "hot spot" birthdates. This presentation should be approached as a general guidance, since a thorough and in depth interpretation of this aspect needs to take into consideration the unique birth chart of each person, which is of course beyond the scope of this article.
