Everybody dreams. There is no argument about this fact. Have you ever thought about interpreting your dreams? Most people waste their dreams. Most people will never unlock the power of understanding dreams. You have decided to benefit from your dreams. Perhaps you want to know if you are being warned by your own subconscious and so have decided to try and learn how to interpret your own dreams. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that what you thought was a warning is actually a prompt to act and reap the benefits of an opportunity. It goes without saying that everybody is different and our environment will have a tremendous effect on how we dream but there are common factors in all dreams. As individuals all we have a reality that is our conscious lives everyday and it is this reality that will facilitate the pictures within our dreams but the fundamental message of your dreams will be the same as the dreams of many others with different pictures. Make sense? Anyway it's not all that difficult as we have all been dreaming since before we were even people. Monkeys dream and so do dogs right? So we have had a long time and many studies done throughout the ages to learn how to interpret the common message of your dreams. We know how to clear away the picture created by your reality and let the message your subconscious has waiting to come forth with information to support your life.

Just how powerful are your dreams? Can they effect our waken conscious? They are powerful and yes they can effect your conscious life. Simple Proof? O.K. this is a bit embarrassing but have you or anyone you know (easier that way right) ever dreamt of wetting your / their pants? And what did you find when you / he / she / they woke up? O.K. so now we know dreams are very powerful and yes than can effect your conscious life.

I hope this article prompts you to learn more of your dreams. here is a great place to find out more.

Now there are a lot of places you can research to find out what your dreams mean bit I don't think it's much use knowing what they mean without knowing you need to take positive action on the interpretation. What do I mean? Well it is very commonly accepted that whenever we dream about being naked in public we are feeling exposed in our subconcious as a result of something happening in our real daily life. We can feel exposed in many ways but how about this as an example. It's tax time, you have filled out you tax forms as many do, completely honestly right? So your naked dream had nothing to do with maybe being caught out on a little white lie you told in your tax return has it. BUT here it is, if you did lie in your tax return then wake up walk over to the tax office and explain you have made a mistake. That is taking positive action on a dream and now you will surely sleep with much more enjoyable dreams.

Oh man that's the bad news right? Our subconscious is just like that little angel that floats over goofy on the cartoons, a real menace but it pays to listen. But not all the news is bad. Another commonly accepted interpretation of your dreams is that if your flying (not falling in flight) your subconscious wants to tell you to stop worrying so much you can and will get over that obstacle your so worried about in the conscious. So if you dream your soaring through the air (in a controlled fashion) maybe it's a good idea to wake up and get on with overcoming that obstacle that's slowing down your life. Listen to yourself. Learn to interpret your dreams and free up the soul.

Remembering Dreams

It seems these days most of us have learnt how to discard our dreams very effectively. Historically, way back in the dark ages, this most certainly was not the case. In those days folk would remember their dreams and even carry them off to professionals for interpretation. They placed great importance on those interpretations and would often manage their daily lives in accordance with the messages from their dreams.

These days we are much smarter and well developed. We don't have to remember things as we have computers to do that. We have bookmarks and favorites to remember the addresses of web sites and we have telephones that remember our friends telephone numbers better then we do. Just this morning a repair man asked me my home telephone and I had to look it up in my cell phone! of course even today most of us remember bits of dreams and feelings from dreams. Write them down in a book. Not a scrap of paper but a book. A book you keep in a safe place. Why the importance on the book. For just that reason. We want to tell our brains, "hey these dreams are important so do please try and remember them for me dear". Once you have them written down your dreams you can start to research them for their meaning. But if you want my opinion the most important aspect of interpreting your dreams is to act on them. That's what I did and I am glad I did.

I always remember my dreams, whether I want to or not. Every night I dream, and every morning I wake up remembering a good percentage of that dream. I never ignore my dreams because they are usually a reflection of the things that are going on in reality. Sometimes it might be stress, or it could be just something that I've been procrastinating about (for far longer than usual) . Either way, if I brush off the dream without analyzing it, I feel like I've just cheated myself out of the opportunity to resolve or prevent a catastrophe. I agree with you completely about the benefits of keeping track of our dreams in some form or another - a diary or little booklet is perfect I think - because we never know what we might be able to accomplish through such observations.

It is amazing how much our dreams are able to tell us. I heard dreams were a extremely important part of the ancient Chinese culture, as early as in the 200 B.C, there were already books(made of bamboo sheets more likely in those days) interpreting dreams for the kings and warlords. Very often I'd wake up from a vivid dream remembering everything, but by the time I finish breakfast I'd have no clue of it. I was once told by a friend who strongly believed that dreams were the reflections of the reality that I should write my dreams down first thing in the morning. At the time I kind of laughed at his suggestion and brushed it off lightly. After reading this post, i am starting to think it was rather silly of me to do that...

Dreams are sooo cool! I like love checking up my dreams on the net whenever I can remember them. I have weird dreams. Symbolic dreams. Like the ones those psychic people have and know that it means something deep. You ever dream of a T-Rex waltzing through a major intersection, destroying everything in its path? No? Well I have! My advice to you is to check those dreams out post haste! Better avoid that monster before he pays you a visit at your breakfast table the next morning!

The study of dreams stretches back to the start of mankind. People have attached great meaning to them. Some insprire great hope while others strike fear. The ancient Greeks and Egyptians went to great lengths to interpret them and more recently the subject of dream interpretation was studied by Sigmund Freud concluding that while the interpretation of dreams in children is a simplified manifestation of wish-fulfillment tied to recent events, in adults the meanings become more concealed and the interpretation much more complicated.

Interesting post and hopefully more research will be done in this area.

There is a South Pacific island where, at the breakfast table each morning, the first question among the family is, "What did you dream last night?"

I think dreams work out some things we encounter during the day. I can go to sleep at night and wake up with the answer to a complex mathematical question, Once, I worked in a wilderness seminar for two days and woke up the 3rd morning with a complete 6-stanza poem in mind, which I wrote down quickly.

Sometimes I think dreams are also simply "static" - loose ends that need to be discarded or processed out. Other times, I believe we can recieve important messages in them that we can act upon for good or to prevent catastophe. Both have occurred with me. I think the "canned" dream interpretations are not always correct and one must look to one's own background for other keys. Dreams have sometimes been very helpful to patients and clients I have known.

Thank you for the Hub! I'm your fan,

Patty,

Thank you for your well thought out comment. I appreciate you paying my hub a visit so much. I agree with you entirely that simply relying on "canned" interpretations are not always correct and as such may well be very wasteful. One must look to their own environment and give their dreams some decent thought if one is to take full advantage of the messages held within.

Once again thanks in appreciation.

OK so I have bought a notebook and will place it next to my bed so that in the morning I can write down what I remember. Lets see where this takes us.

Cheers Monitor
