is the Everything 4 XBOX 360 website legal?
66Hello if your reading this you might be asking yourself the same thing I did not that long ago...
and that was is the website www.everything4xbox360.com legal? It is a very neat sounding website where you join with a onetime membership fee of 39.99.
After becoming a member you can download unlimited Xbox 360 games burn them to a DVD and play them on your XBOX 360! and not having to worry about getting kicked off Xbox live or playing copied games. But the first thing I thought was can this possibly be legal? You never again have to pay anything and have unlimited downloads of XBOX 360 games?! So I checked out their legal information and this is what they said.
Taken right from the website www.everything4xbox360.com:
"Digital Millennium Copyright Act
Everything4360.com is committed to respecting and protecting the legal rights of copyright owners. As such, Everything4360.com adheres to the following notice and take down policy, in full compliance with Sections 512(c) and/or 512(d) of the DMCA (17 U.S.C. ยง 512 et seq.) "
They also state that if you believe that in any way that Content infringes on copyright laws that you can contact them and it goes on and on.
Upon further investigation I found in the FAQ page the question "Is this legal?" They say yes and give a link to US CODE: Title 17, section 117 Go to www.copyright.gov and look up chapter 117. I read it over a couple times and I'm still confused.... To me it sounds like it really is legal but I'm still not sure. According to Cornell law school it's legal.
