 I've had enough.

I work for a national company. I have worked their for 8 years. In those 8 years i have worked my a** off. As a retail manager I am responsible for a store, the merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and a hundred other things that you run across.

Along with doing these things I have helped the company open 6 stores. I have gone to 5 stores at different times to clean them up after other managers have quit or been fired. I have also worked as an unofficial secretary for the District Manager, gather data, creating e-mails and helping other managers.

The company I work for has strict policies that are not customer service oriented. I have done my best to follow these policies and have become use to being called a B**** or raciest for not giving customers what they want.

I put in about 55 to 60 hours a week. I am a salary manager and get paid 40 hours.

The company is open 365 days a year. I have missed 3 Christmases, 2 Halloweens, 3 thanksgivings and countless other things.

Oh yeah, I'm a single mom of a 5 year old. My day care loves my job.

In the 8 years I've had 6 different district manager, 4 different regional manager and 3 different vice president of operations.

Which brings us to the reason I've had enough.

I now have a new VP of operations who has decided all the long term employees in the company are not good enough. He wants to bring the company up in to a new standard. Which I agree with. But he has decided that the managers who have been running these stores for years can not come up to these standards. He has giving a list to the District Managers of employees to get rid of.

Guess what I'm on the list. I have been moved to a store that the manager walked out on. In September. It has not had a store manager since and the assistants have not maintained it.

I have one week to bring the store up to standard or get written up / a thirty day.

I can do it. I've do it before. But I shouldn't have to.

The District Manager and Human Resource manager tell me to make the store almost perfect. To show the VP what i can do. This decision was made 100% by the vp.

So  worked my heart out for 8 years and i have one week to prove myself.

I have so had enough!!!!

So today for the first time in eight years i started to look for a new job.

I'm sad. because i really care for the people i work with and for.

But I'm tired.

So today i went on a job site and found I'm not even making the minimum for my position.

So I have a question.

I have 5 weeks of vacation saved. If i put in my two week notice and get paid my vacation time i won't need a job until January 2010. Should i go ahead and quit or should i find another job first?

Or should i not quit at all do what i do. Have a great Christmas in that store (increase sales, get store up to  standards) and see what happens.
