One cannot just place a few ads, send to a few safelists, surf a few hundred sites then give up. That's not very much coverage.

Use TEs to build downlines, brand yourself and/or your product. Use these downlines as your personal networking center. Some will be responsive, some won't.

Sites that offer referrals most generally allow some form of contact with those referrals. Write them, offer to help or answer questions. Give them credits--yes that's more surfing for you, but hey, ya gotta give to get.

A marketer must equip himself/herself with the tools necessary. The main most important thing a person needs to succeed is an email list. Period. Use the free programs to build that list.

Converse with your referrals--yes, just bullsh-t and talk. You're here doing that anyway aren't you?

Bring them to MyLot and talk back and forth, make both you and your referrals some extra cash for doing your communicating there.

Just like offline, online marketing is a job.

Like anything else, one has to care about it to succeed.

Example scenario:

Jack sets up a blog with all his nifty little sales items--all worthwhile products at great prices.

Jack places his link in 50 TEs and is baffled because he has no sales.

Jack then tries out 10 safelists, and is again baffled because he has no sales.

Jack reads some free and inexpensive ebooks to find out wth is wrong.

Jack discovers that there are several things he is missing: 1) a personal email list 2) a business name that people recoginze and 3) friends to help him promote effectively.

What is the BEST promotion EVER?

Word of Mouth--person to person recommendations.

How does Jack get that?

Jack has accounts in TEs already. He notices that some of these TEs offer personalized splash pages that allow him to place his Own Face, his Own Name, and his Own Product on these pages for FREE.

Jack then decides he had better put his face on his blog as well...so when people see his face, they begin to associate it with his name and product (or Business Name & product).

Jack starts getting signups in these TEs.

He then decides he's getting too many referrals to mail them all individually. He runs a search for a free autoresponding service where he can input all his referrals names and email addresses (ALWAYS giving the option to opt-out of emails to avoid SPAMMING charges) and send them all the same tips, offers and other programs that he has found either helpful or profitable.

Jack begins making a few sales here and there.

During this process he discovers Classifieds, FFA pages, Ad Boards, Safelist Submitters (WOW, email millions with 1-click!), Free Search Engine link submitters, and link exchanges with other webmasters & bloggers.

All of a sudden Jack has so much advertising that he can't keep up with all of it.

Jack learns that his blog isn't getting anywhere on FFAs--he notices that the free offers on the FFAs are picking up a lot more signups.

***IDEA***

Jack pulls his sales blog from the FFAs and adds offers for his free advertising sites that will get him more signups and help build his list.

(((Side Note)))

*Most FFAs give the member a free page to collect links. What good is this to Jack???

The people that place their link free on Jack's page will get an automatic message from Jack thanking them for placing their link on his page along with his message sending them to his blog.

Jack also leaves links below his signature in hopes of gaining more signups for other programs.

Next thing ya know, Jack is making more sales and building a huge email list.
