The movie launch funtion of Jaggubai, in which sharathkumar in dual role with shreya and Tabu held in simple and private affair at Radaan Pictures Office.

Director K.S.Ravikumar recollects that Superstar Rajinikanth has told him the storyline of the movie asked him to develop a story for him. When they developed three types of stories based on the storyline, the plot developed like "Baasha" and the team wanted to develop further better.

In the meantime Rajini got busy himself with Chandramukhi and K.S.Ravikumar with some other projects.

As he likes Sharath as his favourite Mass Hero, he developed the story to suit Sharath and informed this to Rajini and he said okay to continue the movie and also blessed about the project.

Initally actress Sneha has accepted the role of  sarathkumar's wife. When she came to know about that Shreya acts as the heroine and plays as daughter of her in the movie she rejected and the role has been offered to Tabu.

Now Tabu has accepted to do the mother;s role with the condition that payment of 75 lakhs to be paid. Tabu will be the highest paid mother actress in Tamil Industry.

This movie will be the costliest ever movie in Sarath's career and 90% of the movie is planned to shoot abroad.
