A minimum wage of $4.25 per hour applies to young workers under the age of 20 during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer, as long as their work does not displace other workers. After 90 consecutive days of employment or the employee reaches 20 years of age, whichever comes first, the employee must receive a minimum wage of $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008; and $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009.

Where can 14 year old teenagers find a job?

You can find from your local newspaper. You might also meet directly with the store managers of restaurants or stores near you. Alternatively, you can search workplaces which hire 14 year olds teenagers and apply online.

The followings are commons jobs for 14 year old teenagers which I got from surveys, articles, job boards and many other resources. If you are 14 year olds teenagers you'd probably work as:

• paper router - deliver newspaper is a very easy job
• grocery bagger - simple job but very helpful especially if there is a long queue
• babysitter - most teenagers work as babysitter, easy yet earn you quite a lot of money
• dog walker - many pet owners are willing to pay lots of money to do this easy job
• tutor - practice your skill and knowledge by teaching other kids
  
• referee - only if you like sport
• usher - show people's seat at cinemas
• product promoter - introduce new products in a restaurant or supermarket

It doesn not mean that following jobs is weird to do, but rather, there are not many teenagers get the chance to work this kind of job. Only if you are very talented and lucky you'd probably get this job.

• singer - it is probably only 1 from 100,000 kids
