How to Reduce Debt Quickly

There are many ways that you can help to reduce your debt. You just have to know where to find them and what to look for. Here are some ideas to help get you started and start you off in transforming debt into wealth.

Learn your debt to income ratio

You may know what you make but by knowing what you also spend on a monthly basis can really help with your debt problems. Many people will spend a lot more then they earn simply because they don't understand what they can spend without feeling pressured. This kind of behavior will not help in transforming debt into wealth. You should get a piece of paper and write down everything that you spend on one side and then everything you spend in the other side. You can total it all at the bottom of the paper and then you will know if you spend much more then you make or if you are ok. If you are still not sure you can educate yourself by checking out John Cummuta's web Transforming debt into Wealth course

Don't add more debt

Once you have figured out how much you are spending, the last thing you are going to want to do is add more debt. If you decide that you have to, you should make sure that it is as small as you can. This way you can make sure that you are not over extending yourself and can make all the bills that you have. For transforming debt into wealth it is therefore prudent that you not create more debt as this will set you back for years.

Credit cards and hidden fees

Credit cards are the things that, in my opinion, create the most debt for people. These usually have high interest rates and even higher fees. You may not have known it when you were getting your cards, but most of the time you will find that your monthly fees will be high and you are also subject to high over limit fees. If you are careful and smart about your credit card usage you will find that you can get lower interest rates and that you may be able to get out of one of your over limit fees or late fees. Once you have gotten a credit card under control you should also remember that you want to pay more than the monthly fee. By doing this you will get your debt reduced faster and be able to apply the payment that you were making to that card to another credit card that you may have. This will eventually bring down your credit card debt and free up more money for you. John Cummuta's Transforming Debt into Wealth course will teach you these strategies and much more.
