3 grated onions
5 crushed garlic cloves
2 table spoon dried chili and few fresh chilies
Coriander
Vegetable oil
3 thinly sliced tomatoes

250g/7oz natural yoghurt

4 table spoon lemon juice
Curry powder

Kafta recipe

Take the minced meat and add the grated onions, grated cloves, fresh chopped chilies, chopped garlic, coriander and 5 table spoon oil, salt and leave to marinate for at least 2 hours either at room temperature or in the freeze.

Make equal size balls and place in a plate. Shallow fry the meat balls thoroughly until golden brown. It can also be deep fried.

Fry cumin seeds, onions, garlic, tomatoes, ground chilies, curry powder and make into a paste. Add water and boil.

Slow down the heat to medium and gently add the meatballs. Cook on medium heat for 30-50 minutes. Stir gently to prevent balls breaking.

Add yogurt and cook for another 10 minutes.

Garnish with mint and serve.
