Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's MASSIVE Ego: MSNBC

The title of a recently released MSNBC article is "For smug Mohammed, court may be(the) ideal arena" to show off, be arrogant and brag.

The sub-title is "US will struggle to prevent trial of 9/11 'mastermind' from becoming (a) circus". Well, Mohammed has already been a "circus" LONG BEFORE the start of his trial. As far as "struggle", this is PRECISELY what Mohammed, bin Laden and all the other al-Qaeda and Taliban sympathizers would want. Just compare the two images of Mohammed in the caption. In the first image, he looks startled because he was dragged out of bed in the wee hours of the morning, but in the most recent image, he can only be described DEFIANT and BELLIGERENT (with the long beard and all).

The first few sentences are a vivid indication of just how evil this man is: "When two planes struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, Khalid Sheik Mohammed was sitting in an Internet cafe in Karachi, Pakistan", seemingly minding his own business, as if nothing happened. However, he was indeed "monitoring events" and planning for the next stage of the attacks, which is only something that someone despicable and evil would do. "At first, Mohammed told CIA interrogators he was DISAPPOINTED" that there wasn't even more carnage and destruction. "He said that he expected the towers TO CRUMBLE IMMEDIATELY and that he FEARED THEY MIGHT NOT FALL AT ALL". Now, who else other than a scoundrel (used here because we can't use stronger language that would be inappropriate for publications) would think these thoughts?

"Through the night in Pakistan, the men embraced repeatedly IN CELEBRATION, MARVELING at their SPECTACULAR SUCCESS and the humbling of the American giant". The memories of 9/11 may have faded for some in light of more recent horror stories such as the sniper attacks in Washington DC in 2002, the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007 and the terrifying murders at Fort Hood only several weeks ago. Well, this may well do the job in bringing back that horror to all of us who lived through that hellish and nightmarish day. In this context, phrases such as "in celebration" and "marveling at their spectacular success" makes most of us sick to our stomachs.

Now, what are people saying about him? According to Charles D. "Cully" Stimson, "I know him well ("knowing" a terrorist "well" is certainly not something to be proud of) and if he gets his way in federal court, IT WILL (inevitably) BE A CIRCUS" just like Adolf Hitler in the 1923 Munich Putsch who turned his treason trial into his own political stage/platform. "The court will have to REIGN IN HIS SPEECHIFYING and keep the focus on his criminal behavior (which certainly won't be easy)".

According to a report by the 9/11 Commission, Mohammed is a "self-cast star". He is a star only to himself.

At one court hearing, Mohammed said flat out that "I am the mastermind of 9/11, NOT OSABIN LADEN". While most people would plead to stay out of jail or serve reduced sentences or do hours upon hours of community service instead of having to sit in a cell, Mohammed makes no attempt to hide/conceal/mask his obvious guilt and even embraces it and seems to be excited about the prospect of more attacks against Americans, people whom he obviously loathes.

"He told the CIA (that) his contacts with Americans confirmed his view that the United States was a "debauched (i.e. corrupt) and racist country", as if Mohammed and his anti-American attitudes/beliefs AREN'T racist?

"Later, at Guantanamo Bay, he told one person who had contact with him that, in all his time in the United States, HE HAD NEVER TOUCHED AN AMERICAN, NOT EVEN TO SHAKE HANDS". Who wants to touch someone with so much hatred?

According to Tom Malinowski, head of the Washington Office of Human Rights Watch, "To be treated as a common criminal IS THE LAST THING Khalid Sheikh Mohammed wants. It DISINTEGRATES THE WARRIOR MYSTIQUE that al-Qaeda uses to sustain itself - A MYSTIQUE THAT A MILITARY TRIAL WOULD HAVE REINFORCED". Military trials/tribunals do have stronger judges and juries, but PERHAPS this would have emboldened Khalid Sheikh Mohammed even more.

Mohammed just had to have the last word: "This is what I wish - TO BE A MARTYR FOR A LONG TIME. I WILL, GOD-WILLING, HAVE THIS". It's almost as if Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is taunting the US to go ahead and kill him BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT THERE ARE OTHER AL-QAEDA AND TALIBAN FIGHTERS OUT THERE WHO WILL CARRY ON HIS FIGHT. There are sure to be many more fiery speeches and counter-arguments in this case. Stay tuned.

This trial will be the circus of the year, with additional security etc. He should have been beheaded on camera and avoided a trial.

This is a travesty, and bringing this animal and his buddies here is exactly what they want. Obama can't get anything right, can he?
