children doing drugs

Having children is the greatest gift on earth, i would do just about anything for them. Having a child end up doing drugs is one of the toughest things a parent  has to go threw. the let down of your self, feeling that as a parent you didnt do what you were supposed to do. You let your self down and your child. I did not know what to do, or where to turn.  i was fighting everything and everyone.  I was having to even deal with the x and his parents of what a failure i was for that child.  Maybe i let him do to many things early in his life, i let him choose the schools he wanted, i gave him choices of the clothes he wanted to wear. And his father and grandparents gave him and his brother every thing under the sun.

what should have i done diferantly?  Was there something i could have done, i ask my self everyday.  Because even though he was put in to 2 hospitals for detox, which it helped, but he left the second too early and did not really complete the program of staying at a house for learning independence.  so he is not using any more but he has to take medication to tell his brain that he doesnt need the drugs.  But when does that crap stop, its been 2 yrs, even though everyday i hear the same crap," I will stop, but it will be on my time."  well i feel its been too long.  But what do i know i am just a mother in concern, and afraid every day of my life that he wont wake up.

Is there advice?  tell me your story...
