To use Internet or to communicate other PC by using LAN or Internet, every PC requires an IP. IP stands for Internet Protocol. So, it's necessary to know your IP or important IP related information. This page describes the process of finding IP of your PC using ipconfig command on your Windows machine. Just go to the following steps:

Step 1: Opening a DOS command window:

Just do the follwoing steps:

  • At first, click on the Start menu.
  • Then click on Run
  • Type cmd on that window.
  • Finally, click on OK or press Enter.

Now, you will see a black window will be appeared.

Step 2: Typing "ipconfig" command

In the MS-DOS window, type the ipconfig command to see the IP of your machine. Now you will see your IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway of your machine.

To see more information like DNS servers, Physical Address, DHCP related information etc. you have to type ipconfig /all command in the MS command prompt.
