You're interested in Forex. Maybe you've dabbled a bit with a Forex demo account, or you've heard about people that are making money full-time trading Forex. Perhaps you were looking around the web, exploring online money-making opportunities and simply stumbled across Forex Currency Trading...

The Forex market truly can offer a dedicated student, or more correctly, apprentice, a wealthy full-time forex trading career. On the other hand, Forex Currency Trading is an unregulated market for the most part, scammers are at every corner, and many traders lose more money than they make! Why? Often it's because they rush into it, and diving head-first into an ocean when you can't swim and have no support is not particularly wise! Or worse, rush out to buy that "100% profits guaranteed Automated Forex Trading Robot that'll make you millions on Autopilot," plug it in, drop their wad into a broker account and depend on the super robot! Big mistake!

Learn forex currency trading online first, get the basics down, then find somebody who will help you along. Forex trading is a skill, and like any skill it takes some knowledge, time and practice to get good at. And that's why I'm here; I want to help you in the right direction, and try to ensure that you don't lose your shirt to "diving in," or to some scammer out there.

Being A Forex Trader: Is It For You?

The foreign exchange market is a fast-paced market, which is open for trade 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Fortunes can be made and lost very quickly, but with the right know-how, motivation and skill, forex trading can be very rewarding both personally and financially.

The bulk of the forex market is made up mostly of international banks and other huge corporations, and private traders make up about 2 percent of the entire forex market.

However, with the the personal computers of today and high-speed internet which make the forex market much more accessible, more and more private citizens are getting interested. Most often, “day traders” are usually people who have full-time jobs and trade forex as a side-line. It’s extremely difficult to make a living trading forex to begin with, so most new traders find that they need to polish their trading skills before they can consider becoming a full-time trader.

The Forex market is far more involved than initially meets the eye, and a significant number of scam artists take advantage of this fact. They rip people off by selling them questionable 'trading systems' that promise to make Forex trades push-button easy. Don’t be fooled, there’s no “holy grail!” That is not to say that there aren’t legitimate trading systems available out there, but do your homework – beyond the sales page I mean!

Once your confidence is up and you're buying and selling currencies with some degree of consistency and profitability, you may consider quitting your day job to focus on trading forex full-time.

The most excitement and potential profit comes from trading for yourself. With the stock market, a bad day could mean disaster. This is where the forex market is different, because a bad day for one nation’s currency makes no difference when there are plenty more strong currencies to be traded. Of course, any way you cut it, there is always risk when money and speculation is involved. However, with practice, dedication and determination you too can make a very good living as a forex trader.
