Learning a new language

Learning a new language other than our mother tongue is a difficult task. By understanding the methods of learning a new language will help us to improve communication .Earlier days communication was the barrier , because of the not knowing the other foreign languages. This is was the major disadvantage , even in military operation.

Language is for communication either by writing or reading or speaking. In this, learning to speak a foreign language is easier than other two. Speaking a language can be achieved by constant touch with the foreigners as well as trying to practice each word you learn. You must start with day today activities. Because it is easy to remind and it will become a habit by repetition. Greetings others, knowing about the food items, asking others name, asking about the time, asking about the routes, asking about the essentials items for cooking, are the some of the basics to learn the foreign languages to speak.

All the languages has two faces. One is colloquial and the other type is with grammar. Even though the language is the same but the colloquial will differ, place to place  because of the community .Colloquial always liked by the regional people, but not considered for writting and reading. For learning and writing  a foreign language one must know the grammer. Written without grammar is not considered as writing.

Always learning a foreign language should be without translation. Try to understand the language with meaning of the particular native language. Do not try to learn a new language with the understanding of your own mother language. You can try to mean it. But due to consideration of other learning foreign language. Pronunciation should match the foreign language which you are learning. Other wise another colloquial language has born. Giving birth to colloquial language or learning the foreign language ,better you to choose.

Next is practising  the known foreign language. Here you need to come closure to the native language people and knowing their cultures and interests as well as habit.Otherwise you are going to interpret everything based on your cultures. This will limit your learning and identity .

As a language teacher, and method master in English, I am intersted in this topic. All that you have told here is correct. It appears you have purposefully avoided technical terms. For eg: learning the language directly by using it, without the interference of mother tongue, is called 'Direct Method.'etc.

To learn a second language, the best technic is,to be in association of it, and use it, even in a faulty way.the listners should correct it, and he must receive it in a sportive way.
