LED is already starting to be implemented in many workplace environments, from led office lights to factory to warehouse lighting. Workplace lighting is typically left switched on for a large part of the day, if not all day, so LEDs lights can substantial savings in terms of the amount of electricity consumption and replacing costs.

For those companies with high targets such as ocompanies that specialise in management mentoring in terms of the reducing of their environmental impact, changing to LEDs can be a very easy way to reduce their carbon footprint and for a relatively low initial investment and that results in fast payback times.

LEDs are used throughout the office building for all decorative, conference room, restroom and aisle lighting. In addition, all external lighting is achieved using LEDs, with the exception of the flagpole illumination.
These all add to the quality of the feel of a workplace and, when the savings of all of these lighting installations are added together, represent a huge long-term saving for a company.

One example of a company using LED lighting is a US-based manufacturer of process equipment. It installed LED lighting both inside and outside the new building to deliver long-term energy savings and to reduce its maintenance requirements.
Through the use of LED lighting it's building’s lighting load was reduced from an anticipated 75 kW to an actual 30 KW, giving a 1.3 year payback period for the initial investment. With the LED light bulbs expected to have useful life of 50k hours, the maintenance required for replacing failed bulbs is also reduced substantially.
