The LEGO Groups Death Star

Months before the release of the LEGO Death Star 10188 fans were drooling over leaked pictures of the set and of the new LEGO Star Wars figures that would be released with the set. The new version of the LEGO Death Star did not dissapoint being a different style LEGO set than the original Death Star that LEGO released. This time the set was built for playability instead of a diaroma style set. Besides that, this version came with new LEGO figures that had never been seen previously, including a new version of Luke Skywalker in a Stormtroopers outfit. Han Solo was also fitted with this outfit as seen in the film. Another fantastic inclusion is the ability to recreate the scene in the film where Luke and Leia escape from the Dianoga trash creature.

LEGO Death Star - Hours of Fun

The LEGO Death Star 10188 comes with a whopping 3,803 pieces and is a massive set after completion. With four levels of LEGO awesomeness, the 10188 LEGO set is great for play with the ability to recreate several scenes from the original Star Wars movies because of its size. Even the instructions for this set is a gigantic book. Over two hundred pages of step by step instructions make this one of the largest instruction manual ever by LEGO. After it is made you will have an amazing set to show off with walls that come off, spinning seats, and guns that can move in different directions to fire. These different parts to the Death Star LEGO Star Wars set make it very realistic and offers hours of fun for the LEGO and Star Wars fan. Other features include an Imperial Conference chamber and a version of Darth Vader's TIE fighter!

The LEGO Death Star 10188 brings down the scales at an impressive twenty pounds! Even though it weighs so much and is so detailed it is still a fairly sturdy set for its size. A lot of times LEGO Sets that are this big can be a pain to move around but the Death Star stands up well without falling apart. One of the things to keep an eye on are the Death Ray Lasers. These tend to come off during transport and should be treated with care. One complaint about this LEGO set is that it is not 100 percent true to the films as it contains features from the original Death Star and the Death Star II. This does allow for more playing options but some fans wanted a more accurate model for their collections.

The LEGO Death Star is a relatively expensive play set but is definitely worth the price. With the step by step instructions and plenty of LEGO Star Wars figures, this set can be enjoyed for hours without getting bored.
