letter to Congress
57Patients rights action
Well it seems the proof is coming sooner than most of thought. Congress and Senate must act before January to prevent Cuts to Medicare set to go in affect 1 January. And the Senate has to pass a Medical Liability reform. No action at this point in time by either Congress or the Senate will place many of us at great risk for the healthcare that we get. To put it bluntly a lot of us will just flat-out not get the healthcare that we were entitled to after serving our country and industry for all our working life.
To me it never was an issue over which party was the majority, but it seems they don't see it that way. Enough of the bickering about who is in charge. Get the job done and support the folks that put you in office. If you (Congress and Senate Representatives) can at least get these done before 1 January 2007. Then if you are leaving office, then good riddance that you are gone. If you are staying in office stand up and do your duty. If you are coming in office, then work to make these things happen.
The long and short of it is doing your job and at the very least get these done before time runs out.
Well seems that Congress and the Senate are so busy with infighting and their own personal agenda that rest of the country is once again left with a do nothing Federal Government. Many issues are left on the table undone and so far no one as even mentioned the ones at hit us directly in the pocket book. I am amazed and appalled that the publice (us voters), evn stand for this. I guess it just goes without saying, we are just not paying attention or don't seem to mind getting ripped off. The future Presidential Candiates are jocking for position and and so far aren't telling us why they are even there much less what they plan to do.
How is we just don't get it? The war in Iraq situation is still there and let's face it there is no easy way to settle that issue. Don't agree with it but know that by say token and fast pull out is a sure sign that we as a government aren't serious about protecting people as we say. A pull out is by far worse for the world and the US than any other screw ups we could make.
A pull out would surely give the nay sayers and radicals political fodder to shoot right back at us. And what the heck they are doing this anyway. Why can't we just cut the money off? Anyone with a little common sense knows that with the largest economic economy in the world, could just simply stop the transfer of dollars to those countries. I sure doesn't take a lot of smarts to figure that out. If you cut the money an lot will end very quickly.
Why can't we do this? Is greed the driving factor? I say follow the money and we will get to the source very quickly as to who is funding terror and corruption. Cut those strings and things will change very quickly.

Yesterday was first dat of 110th session of Congress. The newly elected officials took their oath and a few opening remarks. If the first 100 days is anything like the opening remarks, it sounds like all the election run off campaigns were all just talk. Only thing that seems to have changed is special interest have shifted from Rep. to Dem. agenda.
Take Action Now
Welcome to the Patients' Action Network, sponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA). This website is an excellent resource for finding out all the critical health care issues facing Americans, including medical liability reform, the Medicare crisis, and more.
The Patients' Action Network fights for patients' rights by advocating for meaningful health care reforms, lower health insurance costs, and more access to affordable, quality health care. We make sure your voices are heard in Washington, D.C. and in the state capitals.
Medicare Cuts threaten America's patients!
Medicare will cut doctor payments by a whopping 5% on January 1, 2007, and by nearly 40% through 2015 if Congress doesn't take action. How do these Medicare cuts affect you? With health care expenses increasing and payments decreasing, many doctors will be forced to reduce the number of patients they can treat. And you or someone in your family may be one of these patients! Your family deserves better. We are asking the U.S. House and Senate to permanently reform Medicare and stop future cuts -- but Congress won't act until you do!

US Senate fails to pass Medical Liability Reform Despite thousands of calls and e-mails from patients like you, this spring the U.S. Senate fell short of the 60 votes needed to end a filibuster of critical medical liability reform legislation. The "Medical Care Access Protection Act of 2006," also known as S. 22, is common-sense legislation that would lower health care costs, stop frivolous lawsuits and keep good doctors in your community by reforming the current "jackpot justice" legal system that has made so many personal injury lawyers rich -- at your expense! Click here to see how your senators voted.Every American pays for the broken medical liability system, which adds $70 to $126 billion dollars to the costs of health care each year. Your continued support for medical liability reform is vital, and the AMA's Patient Action Network is committed to fighting for legislation that will put personal injury lawyers in their place so that you and your family don't have to worry about losing access to critical specialists like obstetricians and neurosurgeons.

Once again Congress has done nothing to address the issue.
