SPOT A LIAR
60When you are trying to grab a liar, it’s easy to look for the mistaken signals. Vocal and verbal clues are more dependable than body language. Very few people are good at dotting liars, in fact, most are awful. People think liars keep away from eye contact and keep calm in order to present what they hope is an honest manner. We may be enticed to look for clues in body language, but studies show vocal and verbal clues are more dependable than visual ones.
Listen to see if there are long silence between the questions you ask and the answers. An unnaturally long gap means a person is ‘thinking up’, not remembering a response. Liars also use short sentences. As far as visual indicators go, a lack of moment can be a hint to a lack of truthfulness. Someone who does not have crow’s feet around the eyes when they laugh does not find you funny.
Sometimes if you cover the lower part of a face, the upper parts come into sight as though it could be wearing any expression. A fake smile can be an pointer of anger, so be warned. Tips: always look at the eyes. When someone is lying, they may touch their face more than usual.

Is She Lying?
When her brain thinks one thing and her mouth says another, her body gives up the tattletale signs of lying.
HER GAZE
There is one lying signal even a practiced liar can’t control. Check for dilated pupils. It is a natural side-effect when the sympathetic nervous system – you fight or flight response - kicks in under pressure. Those pools of darkness at the centre of her eyes will spread as she absolute the lie.
HER LIPS
The physiological pressure of lying increases peristalsis, or the restriction of esophageal muscles that are involved in swallowing. Stress also slows the making of saliva, there by leaving a unexpected dry mouth. Watch whether she is impulsively licking her lips before speaking or swallowing vigorously.
HER HANDS
Her mitts articulate her feelings in chat, so a liar will always be apt to hide her hands, either under her armpits or behind her back. But if she’s thought through her lie in advance, she’ll keep her hands still – strangely hanging at her sides or resting flat on a table.
Listen for FLUBS
A moment of bend in her vocal tone can give up her lie. Listen for long midsentence pauses, a disconnected burst of words or a sudden pipe up or even a rise or drop in pitch. This is usually caused by the trouble that she’ll have breathing normally when her verves are in overdrive.
Ask For Details
Most people alternative to oral gymnastics to stay away from an outright lie. She might answer the question with a question to stall for time, or suddenly suffer selective memory. Once she’s fibbed a little, she’ll fib a lot, so press her for specifics and see if she wriggles.

SPOT A LIAR in the News
- Paisley, Lambert stand out in the crowd for country albumsSt. Louis Post-Dispatch24 hours ago
Picking this year's Top 10 was made tougher by the fact that the top two — Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert — stood out among all others. Don't get me wrong, the other eight are great, but Paisley and Lambert are clearly at the top of their games.

Feature Story: If ever there were a roller-coaster year, 2009 was it. Oh, there were highs, much like the one that helped close out the year with the signing ceremony of the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act of 2009. Mr.Sukran, congratulations.
I never see anyone eye to eye. That does not mean I am lying. My eyes are small and only 25% of my eyes will see you. It will get wet and tears will roll down if I continuously see a thing. I dont use glasses. My eyesight is good. So, your assumption on this count is not correct.
I get long intervals to reply to a querry, just not only HP... Because of other preoccupations only and nothing else. I may have thought that the matter is not important to attract immediate attention. Or taking time will enable me to answer to your question more appropriately. So, belated answers will never be a lie.
Short and objective answers only be true. If one goes on explaining unnecessary things and present an elaborate answer, that will only be a lie. So, that is also not correct.
All these are my opinion based on my experience.
All we need to do now is figure out when someone is lying on email or the internet, that would make the world a better place and help the honest people.
Dear Sivagnanam Sir, These points mentioned in the hub is not my opinion but the researchers were found these facts. Maybe one are two points are differ from your opinion. Cool article.
Very good article. You should want the TV show called, "Lie To Me." Check your local listings for time, day, and channel. I love that show. Now I check everyones body language to see if they are lying.
Well done Sukkran. And you're so right Brian - how can we tell if someone is lying online. I think we're all getting pretty saavy about that, and good at reading between the lines. best wishes, Cindy
