License to Wed is a 2007 romantic comedy starring Robin Williams, Mandy Moore, and John Krasinski. The film is directed by Ken Kwapis from a screenplay by Kim Barker, Tim Rasmussen, and Vince Di Meglio.

The film centers around engaged couple Ben Murphy (Krasinski) and Sadie Jones (Moore) and all of the grueling relationship challenges that Father Frank (Williams) puts them through, as a way to prepare them for marriage. Ben and Sadie want to get married in Sadie’s family church, but Father Frank won’t bless their union until they’ve passed his marriage prep course.

Robin Williams needs no introduction. He’s absolutely adored the world over, and although I can get annoying with him from time to time, I have no doubt that he’s one of the funniest actors working today, if not of all time.

Mandy Moore is a pop singer and actress who’s been very active in both film and music. Some of her more noteworthy films are The Princess Diaries, Saved, and American Dreamz. Along with License to Wed, she’s also going to star in Romance & Cigarettes, Southland Tales, and Dedication, all in 2007.

John Krasinski has made a name for himself as Jim Halpert, the secretly miserable paper salesman on NBC’s smash hit mockumentary The Office. I’m a very big fan of Krasinkski’s and it’s great to see him expanding and landing more roles. Later this year, he will write and direct a film adaptation of the short story collection Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. Please feel free to check out my write-up of the project here. He’ll also be doing the voice of Lancelot in Shrek the Third, as well as starring in the George Clooney-directed Leatherheads, a 1920s football movie.

Here’s an Entertainment Tonight Online interview with the cast of License to Wed, which hits theaters on July 4th, 2007.
