List Of Phobias

Here is a complete list of phobias. Everyone has at least one phobia, myself included. A phobia is defined as an irrational fear of something- although for a phobic this fear seems very real and very rational. Some phobics can even suffer from panic attacks, which are signified by heavy breathing, profuse sweating, a feeling of dizziness, and sometimes even fainting. Phobias can affect everyday life, and many phobics would rather rearrange their lives than face their fears if given a choice.

For a great program to help you get over your phobia, click here or go down to the bottom of the page for books from Amazon.

I agree with angelica. I am so afraid of mosquitoes that when I see one, no matter where I am, I run my hands all over my body then I have to get a blanket, cover any open skin, and run to the nearest closed space or I stop breathing.

Scary much?

I'm on the same page with Angelica and Krysta!I absolutely dispise mosquitoes.I can't stand to be outdoors.hence why I've never been camping..and the sight of a mozzie gets me quite anxious and find myself constantly itching even though i haven't been biting.and my breathing speed increases.I've also woken up only to find myself slapping me across the face and various parts of my body if ive been dreaming about Mosquitoes.henceforth the phobia is called Anopheliphobia.but in my case i have a fear of insects in general to a certain extent. That is called an EntomaphobiaHope I've helped!

I am trying to find the name for the fear of fans as well, I'm a 29 year old woman that occasionally freaks out if there is a fan on in the same room as me, I can never sit right under one and cant ever have them on high. I get anxiety and breathe hard and have to have it turned off--I hate it and know its irrational but I can't help it.

I am definitely bothered by ceiling fans. If they wobble in any way I'm way uncomfortable. In fact I'd rather not be near one.

i was wandering if there's a phobia of an airport, i am horribly afraid of going to the airport but i have no problem of flying. is it the possibility of me being afraid of everything there, i just feel extremely uncomfortable as if something is about to go wrong, like an explosion or i may confront some hijacker.

when i need to go there for a flight, i make up an excuse so my friend would get the tickets and take our bags through, and at the last moment i run to the terminal.

oh yes and im also quite afraid of cieling fans, theres got to be a fear for that, such as spinning things or buckled or wobleing things.

Wow. I have been afraid of fans (not the ceiling kind mostly exhaust fans)my whole life. We narrowed it down to being in an incubator as a premie having transfusions. They tie your arms and legs down (and your head) so you can't move then insert the needle (big needle!)in your head. At the same time the fans start to circulate oxygen and of course the machine that moves the blood both make fan type noises. Since I could see the needle (I have no fear of needles even after 8 transfusions), we figure I associated the pain/trauma with the noise! I thought I was alone in the world! It makes life very difficult...hair dryers, bathroom fans, range hoods, vents of any kind, clothes dryers.....it goes on!!!

There is a few of frogs it is referred to simply fear of frogs (how creative) or at times ranidaphobia (from ranidae, the most widespread family of frogs). This is not a complete list of "all" the fears. I got my info from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_of_frogs Have a great day!!
