Log Cabins. Log Cabins. Log Cabins. Who doesn't like a nice cozy log cabin. Log cabins are just nice to look at. I just like to search and find different photos of log cabins and think how nice it would be inside of one with a fire going watching the snow fall outside or to sit on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the sun come up over the mountains. Or how about watching the deer gather in the front of the cabin and graze on the vegetation in the meadow.

I have stayed in a few log cabins and each one has its own character and warmth to it. It could be the stone on the fireplace, the many nooks and crannies through out the cabin, or the wood furniture and the various accessories with a log cabin theme. No matter what it is there is always something special about it.

If you are like me and dreaming of having you a log cabin of your very own there are so many different designs of log cabins to choose from, whether it's a one story one bedroom cabin or a four bedroom two story cabin with cathedral ceilings. You can customize your own cabin and/or build one yourself. There are companies that will sell you a log cabin kit with everything you need to build it yourself. You can even buy a prefabricated modular log cabin and have it delivered to your property. The choice of the log cabins can be endless.

Once you've decided on your log cabin you than need to think about its location. Do you have a favorite getaway area in the mountains you want to build it or do you want to build one as your full time residence? Where on the property is it going to go? Is it going deep into the woods or the highest point on the property with the views or next to the babbling brook?

Whether you can actually afford to buy a log cabin or not, it's always fun to look and dream.
