I Lost Weight Permanently. No More Diets…Ever!
55Five years ago I had one of those life changing moments we all get only a few times in our lives. I was faced with a decision to act or to do nothing. That morning, I had stepped on my bathroom scales, something I didn't do very often. I found to my horror that I was 80 kilos, the biggest weight I had ever been in my life.
I had turned sixty, and you might think that I would have given myself permission to slip into a fat comfortable old age. Well, until that moment I had never even thought about it.
I have always been active in body, mind and in spirit, I work out with weights on a daily basis and, with the exception of the last five years, when I look back over thirty years, I cannot remember when I wasn’t on some kind of diet. In all that time, I was always in the middle of dieting to either lose weight, or to stop regaining the weigh lost from the previous diet.
Back at that moment, I could have gone either way. The easy way would be to give up. The hard way was to spend the rest of my life, always a little hungry and always battling those awful cravings. Either option offered a very poor quality of life. The choice was made even more complicated because I had a thyroid condition and I suffered from dietary type2 diabetes.
So I paused and I gave it a lot of thought. I’m well read, I have many years experience with just about every diet ever invented, and I have a really good education in history. What came to me then was an awesome inspiration, followed by an even more incredible realization.
At that moment, I knew theoretically, that I had discovered the answer to why everybody seem to be putting on weight, why obesity is suddenly running rampant, and why type2 diabetes has become the greatest health problem in the 21st century.
If I was right, I had discovered a simple way to lose all my excess weight, and a way to keep it off permanently.
Of course, I knew, nobody would believe a theory from someone with no medical or science degree, let alone any connection to at least one of the pseudo sciences prevailing today. But frankly, I didn’t care. I just wanted to cure myself. I had discovered a third option which, if it worked, would let me lose all the weight I needed and stop me from ever putting it back on again. It would mean never having to feel hungry again and the cravings would be gone.
So obviously, that’s exactly what I did…for five years. I’m sure you want to know how it turned out?.
I soon found myself back to 65kilos, and I have hovered between 64 and 65 kilo for five years, without dieting. But what really shocked me was that I stopped experiencing any of the type2 diabetes symptoms, which had plagued me for years.
I must confess that during the five years I expected someone, more qualified to publish a paper or something about the same discovery. To my amazement, no one ever did. I have thought about why? Perhaps a cure for obesity is not what the world is looking for right now, at least not in the world inhabited by the food industry and the diet professions, who would probably be asked to fund the research.
I did realize though, that five years of continues practice on myself, represented a history of success, so I decided to risk damnation and publish a book to explain how I came to make the discovery, how it works, why it works and why no one ever has to be called ‘fat’ again.
