The school board has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 6 p.m. This will be a public work session.
Last week, the board members voted to cut 84 jobs and to eliminate 60 already vacant positions.
This is an efford to fill a $19 million hole in the 2008-2009 budget.
Summer Jobs
There are alot more teens looking for a summer job than there are jobs. An 18 year old stated "You need a connection" know someone in order to get hired.
Economists predict one in three teens will be able to get a job this summer. That is the worst since 1948, which is when the government began tracking teen employment.
In May, the nation's unemployment rate jumped from 5% to 5.5%, which is the largest one-month jump in 22 years.
The unemployment rate for teens jumped from 15.4% in April to 18.7% in May.

Yes, the so-called trickle down plan has failed miserably, I am here to say.
