Love is a doing word
It's not about what someone says. It's about what a person consistently DOES.
If a person says they love you, but consistently does things that hurt you... you've got to look at what they're doing. Maybe they're lying to you, maybe they're lying to themselves. But if their actions aren't consistent with what they're saying, don't listen to the words.
There is a really great saying in '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' that goes something like this:
"You can't talk your way out of something you acted your way into".
Just a fancier way of saying 'Actions speak louder than words'.
