Here are a few tips on planning a romantic beach picnic.

1. Pick the ideal beach location: Not all beaches are created equal, so pick the most romantic beach that is closest to you. You will also want to keep in mind factors like how long the beach is open, is it a private or public beach, what fees if any do you need to pay to access the beach and is it a crowded beach.

2. Food and Picnic Basket: If you are preparing your own food then you will need a picnic basket, food and beverages. You can borrow a friend's picnic basket or buy your own. Choose the food based on what you and your partner like to eat, the time of day and what you like to drink. Popular picnic foods and drinks include sandwiches, bread, cookies, fruit like grapes, cheese and wine. 3. Carry A Picnic/Beach Blanket: You will need a picnic/beach blanket. Since you will be on the beach you may want to carry a waterproof beach blanket and for comfort it would be best to use a padded blanket. 4. Beach Shelter/Beach Umbrella: If it is a really hot day you may want to protect yourself from the sun's rays so carry a beach umbrella or beach shelter. A beach shelter will also give you a level of privacy and coziness (thus adding to the romantic mood).

5. Remember the Sun Screen: While carrying sun screen is mostly a protective measure you can add to the romantic mood by applying sun screen lotion on each other.

6. Bathing Suits and Beach Towels: If you plan on swimming remember to carry your bathing suits and beach towels.
