Tips on How To Plan A Romantic Beach Picnic
Romantic picnics are great, memorable dates and one of the best ways to inject romance into your relationship. They are easy to plan and are also great for a tight budget if you choose the right location and food. The beach is a perfect location for a picnic. Here are a few tips on planning a romantic beach picnic.
1. Pick the ideal beach location: Not all beaches are created equal, so pick the most romantic beach that is closest to you. You will also want to keep in mind factors like how long the beach is open, is it a private or public beach, what fees if any do you need to pay to access the beach and is it a crowded beach.
2. Food and Picnic Basket: If you are preparing your own food then you will need a picnic basket, food and beverages. You can borrow a friend's picnic basket or buy your own. Choose the food based on what you and your partner like to eat, the time of day and what you like to drink. Popular picnic foods and drinks include sandwiches, bread, cookies, fruit like grapes, cheese and wine. Alternatively you can buy a gourmet food gift basket and this will save you all the work of putting together your own.
3. Carry A Picnic/Beach Blanket: You will need a picnic/beach blanket. Since you will be on the beach you may want to carry a waterproof beach blanket and for comfort it would be best to use a padded blanket. Beach blankets are so much more romantic than beach chairs so leave those at home for this date.
4. Beach Shelter/Beach Umbrella: If it is a really hot day you may want to protect yourself from the sun's rays so carry a beach umbrella or beach shelter. A beach shelter will also give you a level of privacy and coziness (thus adding to the romantic mood).
5. Remember the Sun Screen: While carrying sun screen is mostly a protective measure you can add to the romantic mood by applying sun screen lotion on each other.
6. Bathing Suits and Beach Towels: If you plan on swimming remember to carry your bathing suits and beach towels.
7. Music: Carry a CD of Beach Music or Romantic Love Songs and a CD player. Or any other music player which uses batteries (you probably will not have access to an electrical outlet). You may also want to carry a sufficient supply of batteries.
8. Camera, Shells and writing your names in the sand: Yes I can be a corny, romantic so I always pick shells on the beach and do silly things like writing in the sand. It would be lovely to have something to remind you of your romantic beach date so remember to pick shells and take lots of corny, romantic photographs.
Love On The Beach: A Romantic Love Poem
(By Injete Chesoni)
I am remembering
Sunsets and blue skies
And your eyes
Gazing into mine
I am remembering
Gentle warm breezes
And sweet kisses
As your lips met mine
I am remembering
The sound of ocean waves
As you whispered sweet nothings
Into my ears
I am remembering
Pitch black nights and starry skies
And your soft sighs
As your thighs met mine
I am remembering
(sigh)
Love As it was
Sweet
Love on the beach

Hi 2uesday thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I do think the beach is so romantic and a great spot for a picnic. (I also find it calming and peaceful for solitary walks). I really do love beaches and should go more often or better yet get a beachfront home one day. I would get one at the Coast here if I wasn't so scared of all those ghost stories :-)
