Waiting no more
44got your number!
I've waited all this time
and finally you show
Expecting me, to come running
in to your open arms
What do you take me for
another ride, not no more
I have found someone new
who treats me better
Doesn't let me standing
waiting forever
Yes I still love you
but in whole different way
How can I not
but in time, you will fade away..............
I wrote this poem when I was around 16, and I had my first real boyfriend . He would say he was coming over to see me, then tell me something came up and on and on that went. So finally I ended it and said bye bye. If he truly was interested in me as a person then he wouldn't have been able not to come over. There is definitely something to learn here. Why are we so bold, gutsy, and so much able to see clearly when we are young? But as we grow we lose that discerning quality? goodfriendiam

Yes, I do believe, though I do believe it doesn't have to be that way. If only......
I think when we're that young, it's not that we see so clearly or that we are so bold, I think it's more that we are so self involved putting ourselves and our own interests above others. I think as we age we still look out for ourselves but we consider the effects of our decisions on others.
The poem brought me back to my youth, when I would stand up my girlfriend to pursue another simply because there was always something exciting in something new.
Interesting look back. Maybe when we are young we are not so worried about the effect of our actions on others.
Because when we are young we feel invincible and as we grow older we are less fearless
Logoc, commensense, so true, I also think we lose sight of what we really want maybe and begin to blend in not even realize its happening. thanks for your comment

Nice poem. Now, we seem to get blindsided by life as we mature, but clarity does get better my dear after one gets through the earlier cycles of living.
