Before the 80s were fully in the throes of sexual debauchery, Madonna was giving us signs of the future by rolling on the floor like a virgin and preaching to her papa about keeping her baby. Parents complained about her evocative references while fans paid homage to their new blessed virgin wearing crucifixes, lace gloves, white camisoles, and ruffle skirts.
