magdalene waiting
53she sits forty days in the desert
innocence rising
sweet sweat steam to the skies
a personal purgatory
for someone else's sin
she sits still in her waiting
prophecy inside her like an embryo
the sun rises and sets, rises again
and time retreats and returns
impatiently like an excited child
patience in silence beside the dunes
a part of the sand and listens in white
hears the secrets only she can know
in the breeze that refuses to blow
while she waits for temptation
the sand is still
the sun is still
and she is alone
magdalene waiting
hoping the next era
will bring her a lover

This poem has descriptions written by Godly hand. Amazing and at once forlorn. But the waiting is the symbol of life
kushal, I always feel blessed when you grace my poems with your comments. there is something in this one that is secret even to me, that I sidle up next to but can't see with my eyes. I see it in my heart and I have no words for that knowledge. yes, the great waiting and perhaps the answer is in the verb itself. thank you for stopping to read.
Nice illustration to compliment the words
