Have you ever wanted to learn how to make money online making t-shirts? Making your own t-shirts can go from a hobby into a very lucrative business in fairly short amount of time with the right equipment and a minimal drive to succeed. Most successful silk screening and t-shirt clothing companies were started by individuals or a group of individuals who had a love for t-shirts and wearing t-shirts. That love for t-shirts turned into a hobby where they would design t-shirts that they would love to buy or wear but were unable to find a retail store that had the humorous or crafty t-shirts that they were looking for. That lead many into acquiring the equipment to make money making their own t-shirts right out of their home or garage allowing them to work at home. Though it may start slow at first once you wear a few of your cool creations around friends and family then they will start to ask you where you go to buy such cool t-shirts. It is this demand usually from friends and family that fueled the entrepreneurial aspects of turning a hobby into a lucrative business of selling tshirts and making money.  And you can do this without having to import anything from other countries.

How to turn my hobby into a business?

The process is not that difficult and the equipment to get you started is not all that expensive or difficult to find. The hardest part of the process will be to decide how you will market and sell your tshirts and how you will produce them and make money online. Once you get the first stages completed and you have made your first sell (and you will sale at least one if you stick with it) you will have to ship the item to the buyer and hopefully entice them to buy from you again and again. If you product is created and marketed successfully you will get repeat business from your customers as well as future business from word of mouth. The word of mouth part is the ULTIMATE in marketing because it will cost you nothing to market to these potential customers because a satisfied customer will always refer someone to where they received the most satisfaction.  The plus is having a business you own make you money.

What you will need to get started .

If you are going to design your own t-shirts then you will need a program such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create your designs.  Another way is to pay someone either a professional or a kid who does really good artwork and acquire the designs that way.  Remember to ensure that you have full ownership of the design when you purchase from someone.  Once you have designs you will need to decide if you will apply them to tshirts by using a heat press and heat transfer paper or if you will print directly to the shirts using a silk screen press.  For the transfers you will need to either print the design on your computer onto the heat transfer paper or use a silk screen press to press the design onto the transfer paper.  Then using the heat-press you will place the transfer paper on top of the t-shirt and press the design onto the shirt.  If you will be silk screening your t-shirts you will need plastisol inks, at least a one color press, a squeegee, heat gun or flash curing unit, emulsion, and a UV light and a high pressure water source such as a waster hose with spray attachments or a pressure washer.  With this process you use the press to lower the screen over the tshirt and use the squeegee to press the ink thru the image on the screen onto the tshirt and heat the ink until it dries with the flash curing unit.  Now you have your product and it will be time for the work of selling them.  You can either set up an Ebay account and sell them individually or make a bunch of designs and open up and Ebay store and sell multiple items or you invest in your own e-commerce website and create an online store of your own.  Once you are open for business then you will need to drive traffic and potential customers to your website or web store.  The cheapest ways is to market and often overlooked is to start with friends any family members that already admire your creations.  Another trick is to email or use Facebook, Myspace, or your IM accounts to send out notices to all of your friends and others to let them know that you're open for business and to spread the word and give feedback on the designs and the look of your site so that you can make changes to entice and satisfy your customers.  One last thing is to be sure to contact you local city hall to see if you will need to register your business as a legal entity or not.  In some cases you wont but if for some reason you start selling 100+ items a month its best you know the legal parts before you get into that position.  Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.  Please leave comments and let me know if you enjoyed this.  Your motivation keeps me motivated.
