Make knowledge your lifeboat
53You may have heard that French is a despairing language. It is mainly because all its difficulties have to be outdone first. Anyone can gabble some English sentences and make them understood. French works the other way round, and many people feel overcome by a sense of defeat when they face a French course: it starts being difficult -more than many other languages. But then, unlike other languages, it does not open trap after trap.
Take it as a stroke of luck: because French shows its difficultness first, less students-to be choose it. Do the math. What will prove better for you: to learn something that anyone else can learn as easily as you do, and find yourself rounded by competitors, or to drill for some weeks and then find yourself almost without competitors? It is a no-brainer.
The 3-week French Immersion (it is an online stay) will give you the keys you need to get by in French. You may not need the complete stay. It depends on your current level.
If you overestimate your level and ask questions that were explained during the previous week(s), you will have either to attend another session or to pay for private lessons, because you won't be allowed to slow down the other students (max 8 students, usually 4). After all, as a student, you would not want to be hold back by anyone.
If you underestimate your level of French, you will be invited to attend a higher level session. But, since it cannot disturb other students, and you may feel that you need a refreshment course first, the final choice will be yours.

Gabrielle Guchard,
This is so interesting. French is such a beautiful language! I can appreciate it that much more now that you have explained its complexity!
Perhaps now I will consider learning French? Although it is not so easy. The challenge is worth it!
Thank you for sharing!
Blessings
