Sell Photos and Make Money at FeaturePics

In my previous hub page Make Money with your Digital Camera, I gave a short introduction on how you can make money with your digital camera by selling photos. In this hub, we will do a detailed review and close look at a stock agency called, FeaturePics that pays the photographers 70% commission on each sale. The best of all, you can set the price for your photographs.

Before we do this, I want to make few things clear. All your images that you submit to the stock agencies on the web are clearly watermarked so, no one can steal it off. Only when a customer buys an image, the watermark will be removed and a high quality photo is released.

A potential misuse could be that someone could buy your image from a stock agency and sell it as their own. But, that is clearly a violation of copyrights and the member would be banned for a lifetime in stock agency sites. So, feel safe with stock agencies.

You will receive a confirmation email, you need to validate it to get accepted.

• Login to your account
• Click on Manage Portfolio and Upload images
• Describe Image(s) Set Image(s) price (ideally $1 to $5)
• Define Rights Managed options if Rights Managed License is assign to Image(s)Read about licenses
• Submit Image(s) for FeaturePics review

Once approved, your images will be available for customers to purchase.

• One good way to sell more photos at featurepics is to upload only the best shots everytime.
• Look at the "Top Selling Photos" page and "Top Searches" by the buyers. You will know what kind of images sell.
• Note down the type of images, use your creativity to shoot images with same theme.

• Now, the valentine's day is coming. So, shoot plenty of photos in 'love theme' and make use of the season.
• Set a price of $1 for original quality photo, so, it will increase the number of sales. You will earn 70 cents from each sale and easily for 10 sale, you would have earned $7.
• Click 'Allow Resizing' while uploading, the prices for smaller images (800 by 600, 1600 by 1200) will be calculated automatically.

• If an image sells in good quantity, you can increase the price at anytime. In the same way, if your images don't sell as you wanted, you can lower their prices to increase sales.
